  1. Thanks everyone for your replies, at least now I’ve got some ideas what to keep searching for. Seems to be very little out there?! Are folks generally holding onto bikes of this era?
The brand new 09 echo from trial prod seems a great deal but doesn’t seem they’ll ship to uk?

Have to say the atomz really stand out and appeal to me but I’ve only seen the premier for sale so far. They just look so classy.

Max the in those vids is lovely.. Look so comfortable and natural on that atomz! And the taps on that adamant!! Woah!
i rode a quark 2 once actually and was very pleasantly surprised!
still , I’m going to try a slightly lower bb first I think.
     Cheers guys, happy riding.

  2. Nice one guys, this gives me some ideas of what to look for. With zoos and echos seem like I need to know specific years as sometimes people describe it just by the model name in listing. The dab.. I saw that 09 echo and saw it was in stock but wasn’t sure if they’d ship to uk and how much it cost.. so out of curiosity I went to proceed with a pretend purchase and unless I was mistaken there was no option for uk?! Every other country in the world but u.k?! I looked for England and Great Britain but couldn’t seem to find either? Anyone able to tell me otherwise? That does seem like quite a good deal on a new frame!

dyskov, nice one I’ll check it out. 👍🏼
La bourde, those akt2 s do look nice! I think all atomz look really good and the fact it was in Co with sunn is kinda cool to me.

    cheers guys, all input appreciated!

  3. Peter, that was some great riding! You still at it? Thanks for sharing that, the bike does look nice and as you say it doesn’t look particularly high bb. I know what you mean about falling off the back, it’s as if the whole wheel is underneath you and not enough of the wheel behind you. I suppose that’s why they call them pogo sticks?!
I guess it’s the combination of high bbs and super short stays. Can’t seem to find info on the metas geometry?

i kind of missed out on riding this generation of bikes as I was riding 24s and then ended up full time bmx for quite a few years.
but I’m determined to do some ‘pure’ trials, arguably for the first time!

  4. Found the meta, vvt2? Bb seems quite high, looks almost like a gu typhoon? which I’ve had recently and couldn’t really get on with the high b.b, not sure on c/s length on the gu but i just felt I couldn’t get the timing right to get power behind things. Though I did a decent side hop on it, by my standards anyway.

  5. Cheers flip! Some of those if never even heard of.. some, like koxx and zoos, echos came in so many models with changing geometry each year I don’t know where to start looking. Is there any kind of legendary archive that I can refer too anywhere?

i vaguely remember the meta! Did it havd A kind of primary blue colour with a huge graphic? Issue being if most are in America I’d end up paying in shipping half of what I’m hoping to pay for a frame?! But it’d be nice to see some footage of one being ridden?

Im feeling like the mbk evo2 looks like it has a huge reach with a steep h/a? Anybody know the bb rise and c/s length?

i suppose this will eventually turn into a ‘wanted’ thread, but for know I’m trying to find out what to want!

cheers for all help chaps, ‘preciated

  6. Cheers flip! Haha really? Who’d of thought it! The t-Rex was a kind of coustellier replica I remember at the time? My friend had one and actually did make huge improvements on that bike at the time. After having the other trex .. which was awful!

If I remember they were also quite heavy?! So my next question would then be.. which of the mentioned frames were reasonably light? I know frames from this era were generally ‘overbuilt’ but which ones were more abit weight conscious?

  7. Hey guys, looking for some help here. I’m looking to know what frames ever had geometry close to this:

    1090/1100, 380-385,  +20/25 , 72 h/a

im interested to try something along these lines. I’ve tried some of the latest bikes with super short back ends and high bbs and it’s hilarious how I literally can’t ride them. I’m also 6ft 5 which also makes reach an issue.  I feel something like I’ve described might suit me.. any ideas?

  8. I know.. Young and springy back then!

Im really not sure what the video files would be saved as.. I vaguely remember calling one of them something like 'Lickle videooo' Or something equally daft.

Thing is when you edit videos (or at least when I did all those years ago!) you end up saving and exporting a fare few to see how it all looks, so you save each one with a different name so the final one could of been called anything from ' Yes_finally_finished!!1!11!' to 'me.vid'

the riding in them really wasn't that great by todays standards and probably wasn't even footage of my best ever riding overall, but back then no one had camera phones etc and filming wasn't something you did everyday! I think one of them was made on a digital camera that took AA's!!! LOL

Would be cool to see it anyway.

If I remember rightly the songs were 'Break the glass' by taproot and 'aint talkin bout love' Van Halen..

  9. So as some of you may know, I was riding trials back around 2002 - 2008 Then sort of dabbled in and out with a BMX and a couple of 24" street bikes. I was never

In that time I only ever made a couple of videos, I think one was on an Ashton Et and one was on a Leeson 609.

Im wondering does anyone have these videos gathering digital dust somewhere in the quiet halls of an old hard drive perhaps?

I lost all pictures and videos of me riding years ago and haven't seen these videos for a very long time.

Ive been feeling a bit nostalgic.. All I could find was this short clip of me bailing on a bunnyhop gap! ( I do land this in one of those videos!)

    http://www.eengoedidee.nl/videoz/download.cgi?mem_id=29692&fil_unique=Q52x@tTM228AACvJC-M

    Any help would be appreciated!

    Cheers

  10. Flipp its been said many times but your skills on those little mods is just incredible! This best of vid just shows the years of service to the craft and the result is nothing short of a trials legend! Without exaggerating.. you must be one of the most talented trials riders out there.

Long may your days be filled with the joy of riding bikes. Hope 2022 is a good year for you (Y) big thumbs up and to all those who have filmed for you.

I wonder, have you ever done much on a 24"? Ive seen a few clips here and there on your stock, but nothing on a 24?

  11. Some very nice riding there! Felt a lot of this was within the comfort zone.. I imagine you can even do a lot more on a good day!  Enjoyed it still..  nice riding spots with some beautiful shots. Where are you and How long you been riding?

  12. Think ive had it a couple of times, no jabs. No intention of, just to keep on keeping on really. Respect each individual choice.

So far so good. But Ive been living and working in a pretty secluded rural place so obviously that makes a difference. Pretty sure we all had it at work that first January/ Febuary before it was even anounced. Then I remember being at work last year (Builder) and carrying a load of cement bags and being really tight chested and thinking 'this is a bit weird' totally out of breathe, not like me really.  Lasted a good week id say! Probably was a bit of C19 but pushed through it and everything was fine.

I believe if you're fit and healthy and support your own immune system rather than hinder it you're generally going to be fine. Im more concerned with the social and mental impact this is had on everyone to be honest.

My Sis had vaccines and fell terribly ill shortly after the second. she had a seizure and Heart issues. Heart beat going through the roof, couldn't bring it down. Bed bound for good few weeks. She's been on medication for a few months now which have helped but quality of life definitely gone down. Always worried about it. Constantly tracking heart rate on her watch etc. Still doesn't believe its connected to vaccine.

Even though its coming out that quite a few people have had same thing happen. I personally know of at least 3 directly and many more on the internet. Here is an example of Exactly what happened with my sister.

This video explains that it is possible that the person who administered the vaccine to this guy may have mistakenly given him the vaccine into his bloodstream rather than the muscle? This was interesting to me as it could be the same case for my sister and others?

+1 for Black seed oil. Been using this and giving it to friends and family who fall ill for years. Its an ancient medicine.

  13. Not sure if this is a thing.. But Ive recently found a nice selection of rocks around a little park, there's easily about 100. Its been a nice little local for me recently and thought it'd be cool to share it but didn't find an appropriate section to do that, other than in the member organised rides section obviously but it would inevitably end up being lost over time as a normal post?

Now ive suggested gps location, even though I myself wouldn't know how to do that  But im sure the young whizz kids would!

    Any ideas?

  14. Sounds simple, obviously im worrying over nothing here. Two single sets of bearings but with extra balls? Website says 'durable enough for trials'.. I wonder how that would stand up for the Mtb'rs also?

Perhaps the bearing issue was more with that discipline. Perhaps the idea would benefit some over in that scene more..  perhaps not everyone will be aware there's a trials specific Spanish b.b with isis axle that could be used?

I notice that only the trial tech one has the 22mm diameter all the way to the start of the splines before it steps down a fraction.. The Echo and the ZTTO ones ive seen only have the 22mm section where the internal Spanish bearing would sit (inside the b.b) Looks like the same axle as on the trial tech sport lite.

MonkeyseeMonkeydo.. I Wasn't necessarily going to use the actual Sram GXP b.b, but a gxp compatable one. Even a 30mm could be shimmed down I guess?

Just a thought if anyone has Isis cranks they particularly like and having b.b trouble. But sounds like the trial tech it is then!

    Cheers guys
