  1. Shotgun tester, I want to get into a street style, and i'm a beginner with serious cahonas, so in short, i'll be bailing and falling alot... I.E. giving it serious abuse and seeing how well it will hold up to my noobishness
  2. Sup fellas, As I'm sure we all know, the London riders are pretty sparse on this forum, But basically i'm looking for at least a couple who live in London (or near by) to help me learn some street/urban trials. Hopefully getting a stock soon (If Paypal get their f'in act together) I have decent previous experience with bicycles, and other extreme sports. (Trials can be considered pretty extreme right?) I'll gladly meet riders from; Surrey - Kingston, Richmond, Epsom, Guilford etc... Middlesex - Twickenham, Whitton etc... and just about any place that Southern/SouthWest Trains and the tube lines will allow us to economically travel to. PM me as well as posting with private contact details if anyone's interested Cheers!
  3. I'll come i'll come! Every time I see one of this girls posts I have a small laughing fit
  4. Thanks guys, Loved your responses, they really helped out alot, I guess it really is a choice between which cons affect my style of riding more hm?
  5. I know all three of them are good, but I'd like to know who uses which and why? I have a feeling the bias will lean towards BB7/Hope Mono (To show just how ignorant I am when it comes to knowing what brakes to use for trials biking, I SO very nearly got an Avid Elixir CR! xD Thank god my mate who works at Evans corrected me promptly)
  6. I've tried one, they're twitchy. I'm coming from an MTB background, and I can use the P.3 for basic trials. I'm actually quite lean and have good arm/leg muscle from boxing and skating, so I reckon if I got a Stock trials frame i'd only get better really, even if it took longer to learn. It's just what suits me
  7. Doubtful if you weigh 58kg like me. Pretty sure the weight of the rider matters as much, if not more than the designed durability of the frame.
  8. Does that mean a good thing? Don't get it, I haven't met you yet you see, though I think I've heard your name pop up a few times in the forums, So I guess you're a big name in the trials industry? Hello, name's Ric. Beginner trials rider, but I want to get damn good pretty fast. Pleased t' be meetin' you!
  9. God no, i'm an absolute beginner and won't be thrashing it around any time soon, unless I improve at a ridiculous rate (Saw somebody yesterday riding urban trials Victoria/Pimlico who sidehopped onto the freaking Albert Bridge and balanced it out like he was nothing! He was riding a black Stock, sprayed frame so couldn't tell what make, white rims and black spokes, oh yeah and he was a white guy with dredlocks. if you're out there on the forums somewhere, PM me mate, you've got some serious bollocks and I want whatever you took to grow them!)
  10. Don't know that much about trials yet but I do know I LOVE being 58kg, even if it means being only 5'10"
  11. Bought it VERY Happy, he's a top bloke
  12. Onza Woodstock perhaps? I don't know much about trials bikes geo but comparing it side by side with the Echo 04 frame you guys mentioned it looks... near enough right, and streety, with a seat?
  13. Well, guess what, I just decided to revert my choice back to getting a stock quicker than a Mercedes McLaren SLR stops on a two pence piece. Buying an Onza Woodstock from the lovely TF regular, † CETFLY † The link to it on the forums is somewhere in this thread, any opinions on it gents? I reckon its pretty neat for a beginner and one of the best nick used bikes i've ever come across too.
  14. Aah mate i'd KINDA like to, but theyre quite expesive to get and harder to find cheap 2nd hand, so to me that would mean selling my P.3 which I REALLY like to keep, as I just finished working on it, and its quite a hard to find and long sought after frame. It would be nice to get around on. Although I met a guy off the forum yesterday and rode his Leeson 505, (really LONG quite twitchy bike) and it was lovely, really fun and easy to ride around on, and not even the gearing was too bad (coming from an mtb with 9spd cassette and 44t chainring thats something!) Its what pushed me over the edge to go mod, because I did originally want a stock
  15. You -b*****d- It's on ebay too?! Let me win and i'll give you a free P.3 to sell on and get a better bike with more money :D
  16. Cant find one 2nd hand and brand new just seems like a bit of a costly wait for a beginner IMO. I want to start learning now, not wait till august to spend a grand and find out i'm destined to be useless at trials (otherwise id get one, theyre beautiful bits of kit)
  17. UPDATE!!! Found another KO-KM1 frame in these specs: ko-km1 long frame ,brushed chrome front and rear chris king hubs echo silver rims front and rear tarty builds hope front brake rear magura-blue rock pads old zoo bars echo stem adament cranks 74kingz bash ring echo sprocket khe chain maxxis creepy crawlers echo magnesuim pedals ko -forks Hideous brushed silver colour but that's AMAZING spec... right?
  18. I'm looking at a load of mod frames and noticed quite a few of them come as long/short options What's the difference and how does it affect the ride? I think I read briefly here that long frames are better suited to natural, and short frames are better for street/urban riding. I found a nice KO KM-1 bike for sale, only its the long version, and I live in London. Strictly street for me. Is it going to make an impact on my progress if I get the long frame?
  19. Ooh another London rider Nice, what do you ride now? I'm going to seriously pursue this KO frame but if it completely flops then your bike looks like the ultra sex too!
  20. Bump~ Right, well I looked around for some ads and stuff around gumtree for fairly new used trials bikes and OH-my-GOD... This bike is.. well there's no other way to say it: "THE MOTHER F'CKING SEX just laying there right on a platter ready to be taken right NOW" Here's the 4-11: "Ko Bikes KM1 (long) Mod Trials Bike The frame was orignally white, but my dad works for Argonaught (one of only a handful of companies in the UK which powder coat to certain BS codes) and had it powder coated black. The paint job is a 6 stage/layer process and would normally cost three figures. It is extremely hard to chip or scratch. Alot of other components are nearly brand new as I gave it a major overhaul over the last two months. I haven't got the enthusiasm to go onto tartybikes and work out how much it would cost to build this bike new, but it would certainly be well in excess of £1500. Specification: Frame: Ko KM1 long (1045wb) Forks: Koxx Forxx Front wheel: Onza Pro Series rim / Viz disc hub / 2X spoke pattern, handbuilt by myself (many years wheel building experience) (2 months old) Rear wheel: Onza Pro Series 148 rim / Viz disc hub (fixed) / 3X spoke pattern, handbuilt by myself (2 months old) Front brake: Magura Louise BAT disc brake (3 weeks old) Rear brake: Magura HS33 4-bolt, Plazmatic pads (2 weeks old, been on bike for 2 rides) Front tyre: Koxx Try-all (plenty of tread) Rear tyre: Koxx Try-all (plenty of tread) Bars: Zoo! riser Stem: Echo mod Headset: Canecreek (2 months old) Cranks: Trialtech ISIS (2 months old) Bottom bracket: Truvativ Gigapipe DH ISIS (2 months old) Freewheel: Koxx Try-all 108.9 (2 months old) Bashguard: Trialtech Titanium Half Bash (2 months old) Chain: KMC Kool Chain (2 months old) Pedals: Onza Hognesium - pins fell out (really?! I hear you ask!) so drilled with clipped wood screws." What do you think? Should I ring the guy and make an offer?
  21. Honestly? I'd love both, but probably more likely lean towards the TGS side of things.
