  1. Because May is further north!
  2. Hi all, I do a little bit of video editing now & then, mainly like family holiday stuff. But I wanted to try and do some trials stuff. I would go out and shoot some stuff but I have only been riding like less than a week so would be pointless. So if you've shot some stuff of yourself and can't be bothered to edit it, I would give it a bash. (Sorry for randomness)
  3. I was looking at this to. I have just got a 20" to start on mate, after riding 26" jump bike. Feels good and I like the feel of it. At the end of the day its only around the £100 mark so just buy it then if you dont like it, sell it on!
  4. Ok mate thanks for that. Gives me another option to think about.
  5. Are these just as good as the Magura's then? What do you mean "grind your rims"?
  6. Cool, cheers for the hep lads. Think I'l just splash the £100 and do both at the same time.
  7. Cheers matey. http://www.chainreactioncycles.com/Models.aspx?ModelID=6003 Will these fit then, says it comes with Evo2 mounts?
  8. Thanks for that mate, I think I'll defo take that option. I've been validated now so I can hit the For Sale section. I'm going to call Tarty in the morning and see what they can do for me. I will also add you on msn tomorrow mate as I'm hitting the sack now. Thanks for all the people who replied and help out a noob, much appreciated
  9. Mate you have been an amazing help and your advice has been brilliant So is the only way for me to upgrade my brakes to buy those adaptors and just fit pads? I can't fit actually HS33's? Hopefully I will get validated soon so I can buy some parts from the For Sale section!
  10. Its a Shogun Gimp... And I'm guessing it's just standard at the moment (except for the odd crank arms )
  11. Ive been in TartyBikes for the last 2 days looking at all the different parts and prices etc, looks like a great site. Thanks for doing that for me mate, gives me something to think about and I've not a clue what mounts I've got so I'll have to check tomorrow. Anything else you would advice upgrading from standard?
  12. Quite an expensive job to do straight away, will save up though Will these fit on my standard forks at the moment then on the v-brake mounts?
  13. Im a complete noob to the trials world so you will have to bear with me...... I would like to upgrade my brakes but I'm having a bit of trouble. I've just got standard V-Brakes at the moment, so could I upgrade to a Magura HS33 as this seems to be what everybody is running. Should I upgrade the rear first for example with a HS33? Are there any other parts I should look at upgrading in the not so distant future? Thanks for all your help, and I'm sure I'll pick up all the lingo and learn what all the parts do soon! Cheers.
  14. Hi all. I've already made a couple of posts but haven't posted here so I though it's about time I did. Im Simon, 19, from Stamford, Lincs. Just started riding trials and I'm already loving it Other hobbies are Football and Cricket. Currently studying Construction Management at college, hoping to find work soon. Anyways, that's me! Look forward to meeting and riding with some of you when I get a bit better
  15. Just thought I would update you all on today practice. Been doing what was mentioned above, bouncing on the back wheel, and I'm finding this is generally improving my balance on the back wheel. So thanks for the information Coming along nicely now, need to go to a town or something though to practice, village has nothing!
  16. Thanks for that mate Will be practicing today
  17. Should I not learn how to balance on the back wheel first though? I'll give hops ago tomorrow, but thought I'd be better of actually just balancing first lol!
  18. I've been out practicing tonight trying to balance on my back wheel. I thought getting this balance correct would be a great place to start, yeah? Anyways, is there anyway to help me practice this? I can get the bike up onto the back wheel, and hold it for a few seconds, but obviously I need to maintain the balance to help me when I come to moving on doing more stuff. Any techniques to try to just help with balance? How long did it take you lot to get balancing on your back wheel properly? EDIT - I was thinking, could I stack up something to like a couple of feet, and use that as a start to put my front wheel on, then like lean back and learn to balance like that, then if I fall forward again just land back on whatever I'm using? If that makes any sense.
  19. I picked up my first trials bike today. Its a Shogun Gimp, and I know many of you don't like these but I'm just going to see how it goes and if I don't like it I'll sell it. £70, was a bargain I couldn't refuse haha.. Anyways, it's got odd cranks on it so I want to put matching ones on. What cranks shall I get? Don't want to be spending a shed load of money, but don't want something that's going to break!
  20. Cool, will do mate. Any good spots around Grantham?
  21. Hi everyone, As you can see this is my first post. I've been riding bikes for a few years, mainly dirt jumping though. I gave it up a few years ago and now I want to get into trials ) Looking just to buy a cheapo bike for now, then if I don't like it, I can scrap it and not have to worry about spending to much! Anyways, I would love to hang around some riders to get some tips on how to begin myself, and also just to watch you guys do it. I live like on the border of Lincolnshire/Northamptonshire/Cambridgeshire/Rutland, so I can get to most places easy. So if your riding in the areas, let me know where your at and once I've bought myself a bike I'll bring it along. Cheers :-D
