yea learning is the hard part, you use muscle groups you never knew you had! just give it a break if you feel pain

good vid! i was a little worried about opening the link and seeing a naked guy on a bike at first...

To be honest the older "Huh, I've been riding longer than you've been alive" types are the ex-smokers of the trials world, who are equally f**king annoying.
People who think older age is an advantage are IMO completely wrong in a sports/athletics scenario, it's a pretty well known fact that when you are younger you are more supple, fearless and generally much more hardcore
How many of you "older" riders do massive gaps and drops, how many of you ride big ? The only older rider I can think of who still rides big is Ashton, but even he is slacking these days !
you've got a good point pashley... watching the way any sport has progressed in the last few years, it's usually they younger, faster healing group that comes up with new and ridiculous stunts/tricks. as you get older you have to worry about not being hurt for work/family...gotta pay the bills! ugh.

they told us that we didn't have to work on christmas eve, and the day before they said we do now. pretty lame, but at least it's only 8 to 12 am

And could someone please be kind enough to explain what geometry specs mean? I have used the search and couldn't find anything on there.
Cheers guys and hope you all have a good crimbo!
not 100% trials related but a good read to get an idea of a bicycles geometry
http://www.pinkbike.com/news/bike-frame-geometry-2009.html
for trials use, a higher bottom bracket will make the bike more comfortable on the rear wheel, and less stable for two wheel moves. and vice versa

i'm 27, only been riding trials for a bit under a year, but riding bikes since 15. my brother is 25 and rides trials, and my pops is about 52 and just got himself a echo pure

ha ha i think i'm getting shin pads too, i still have a scab healing from a good hole i put in my shin about 2 weeks ago!
-
i started without a helmet, but was pretty much just practicing trackstands in my backyard. one time i went out with my brother to the park and he fell and almost cracked his head...after that we both got some lids! I'm glad i did as i was just messing around a couple weeks ago and looped out and wacked my helmet on a curb. would have been pretty brutal without a helmet.

How does this work, I was practising today my balancing, and I was offered a go on my mates stock, why oh why could I balance like perfectly on it, could not do sod all else on it mind, but my god i was like a legend.
Is this because its a better bike, or is it because it has wider tyres? I just do not know why and I am desperately racking my brains as to how its possible, to me it defies logic.
I eagerly await your answers.
my guess is that you are riding a mod with probably a high bottom bracket, and you then tried your friends stock which has a longer wheelbase, and lower bottom bracket. what bikes where they???

Hello,
I'm Mtnbikerfred (Fred) from Southern California. I ride moutain and race BMX. I'm hoping to be on my first proper trials bike very soon. I admit I was entertained by the "Danny" Videos, but I'm far more impressed by the skills, control, and efficiency the pro's in the UCI competition videos exhibit than what looks like street BMX on bigger wheels. Don't get me wrong. Those guys "own it". I just see what years of hard work and practice accomplishes in organized competition.
Thanks for not getting hacked...
See you around.
hey fred, i ride in Orange with my brother and dad pretty often, if you ever wanna come ride we usually go to Hart park during weeknights, and there are some comps coming up in january at fontana

i've been wearing a THE F-14 helmet, kinda like a fox flux but cheaper and not as bulky looking. i found it on sale from beyondbikes.com (california) but i'm sure it's available in your neck of the woods as well

Hey welcome to the forum, Hope you enjoy it as its much better than OTN No seriously welcome
ha it is a really good forum, i primarily use OTN since i'm from the states and it caters more to us as far as for sale/trade and finding group rides and such.
