Do you think i would get on better with a new frame like a T-Pro, Blade or an Ice? Or would I not notice a lot of different?
Is the old onza T-Mag (2003) classed as short?
Tom
-
I have an old 2003 T-mag frame which has now got a hairline crack where the down tube meets the headstock.
Is it worth getting it welded or am I better off getting another frame??
Would I find a more moden frame say a t-pro, Blade etc alot easier to ride, I am fairly new to trials and have never ridden any other trials bikes???

yo,
So basically am riding a t-pro at the moment and the chain i am running is a kmc cool chain. My chain is loose as shit but my snail cams are fully tightened, plus i have a nut on which gives it more tension, and the chain is still loose! I also know i cant take a link out because it will be too small.
So i am wondering what chains you lot are running, its really pissing me off now!!
thanks, willis x
I had a simlar problem!!
What gear ratio are you running?? And is your wheel right on the end of the drop, out or is there more room for adjustment???

Hi there I need some help
I have a creaking noise coming from my bottem bracket area and am unsure about what it is could be, i was just wondering if anyone els has had the same problem and how i could solve it
Thanks Lewis
If you take off your cranks, remove your bottom bracket and put plenty of grease on your bottom bracket, crank tapers/splines, bolts and make sure they are done up tight this should solve the problem.
Also on a polite note try using the search on the forum as this has come up many a time and people start to get funny!!

Hi All,
I have a problem where i keep repeatadly bashing my knees on the stem when i am trying to get up stuff forwards.
My poor knees are taking a right battering.
I have tried these,
http://www.chainreactioncycles.com/Models.aspx?ModelID=9590
and they are huge. so they are no good and i have sent them back.
Is their any product out there that will fit onto my stem so i dont have to wear them huge knee pads.
Tape some padding round your stem, that way you get the protection without the restriction!!

One thing I found out from Steve at Heatsink is the yellow and the white (snowies) pads are the same compund, just a different colour.

Thanks Tom,
Where can I buy that Tennsile? I forgot the address, where I saw it once.
All the freewheels above can be bought from tarty bikes.

Hi everyone,
In the near future I want to buy a freewheel. Could you please suggest some that is good enough. I've been looking on Monty and Try all. Which one of them is better?
Tensile and White Industries Eno seem to be the most popular, two different ends of the Price Scale!! Both are very good!
Some people like the Try All ones but there are alot of people that have had problems with them skipping.
Monty I am unsure of I know there cheap one is made by Shimano.

Just not too tight as it will kill your bearings in the hub and freewheel!!!

So from what you are saying a bit of slack (less EP's) can be a bit of an advantage???
Onzatrip
Have you used the old 60click one as well??
-
I have just broken my freewheel and was looking at getting a new tensile freewheel. I wanted to know if you all think it's worth spending the extra money on the new 96 click over the old 60 click??
Many thanks

This is going to do his For Sale thread the world of good!
And I was going to buy his GU Booster off him that was close.

They are V mounts not 4 bolt mounts that won't help you need to get some 4 bolt mounts!!!
The mounts you require look like this!!

Right i just got my czar short double disc..... and the rear wheel wont stay tight in the frame i tighten it as much as i can and when i do a hop its wobbling again what shall i do?
One side stays tighter than the other and the other moves back and forth in the drop outs?
Its a echo fixed hub with snail cams...... if anyone wants pics ill get some.
Are your snail cams the smooth type or the notched type?? If they are the smooth type they can have a tendancy to slip round and let your wheel move back and forth.

It's looking like the snowies are the most popular!!!

Yellow tnn pads are awsome with the metal backing, they have to be the best rim brakes i have ever felt.
Yes after I posted I saw on tarty's website that the yellow TNN are for smooth rims!!! and not the LGM's
-
I to this day never really 'get' grinds. When i ground my rim all it did was make the brake really slippy and the pads wore down stupidly quickly, also I've never ridden a bike with a grind that I thought was anywhere near a decent working brake.
So you recon to stick with smooth rims???
-
I dont understand why some people still running smooth rims in trials at least on the back. Grind it and get phat pads or LGMs, bite and hold is so much better!
I might have a go a grinding my rim at the weekend then I have had a quick look at the wiki.
-
Yes it is for the rear brake!!
They will be fitted in to Heatsink CNC backings.
-
When i was riding with a smooth rim zoo pads were the only ones i was happy with, and I'd used quite a few all without a grind.
Where did you buy zoo pads from???
-
Zoo pads.
Are you trying to confuse the hell out of me??? LOL
I will look at them! Thanks
-
I have been trawling trials forum to try to find out which pad people consider the best for smooth rims! I know you are all going to tell me to get a grind but at the moment I wish to run smooth rims!!
I know it is a matter of personal preferance, but which of the following pads do you all think is the best for smooth rim with regards bite and hold???
1. Neco Reds
2. Heatsink Snowies
3.Tnn LGM
4. Phat Pads

^^^^ I agree mostly, with a bit of tar they are quite bitey and make a lower pitched honk, however, they do work well with a grind but it has to be sharp to be effective (which gives a higher pitched aggressive honk ) the bite and hold is pretty good. I'm currently running these pads as I got them cheap on eBay (£3.50 inc p+p see link) ''Trialsmanshop'' should have them listed on auction on eBay soon......
http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/PLAZMATIC-LTD-HS33-B...id=p3286.c0.m14
^^^^ That auction has ended, but more should be listed soon .
Hope I have helped, Zach.
That is where I saw them i might get a set to give them a try at that price!!
Thanks all
