should of taken the advise about wearing protective wear.. WARNING when trying to side bunny hop off a 3 an half foot wall make sure both wheels leave the wall before jumping sideways off, that way the back wheel wont stay were it is whils you an the front end fall lol.. a knee full of stem cap ouch... hospital trip ;(
sounds like it hurts. I cant seem to picture what you're trying to do. what's a side bunny hop?

thanks! yeah I am using a sprung tensioner. I just need more practice.

I have a tensioner on my bike. What benefit does that provide when I've seen setups without it? Just assurance to keep the chain tight?
I've bent the hanger for it twice now and its pissing me off..

I dont know.. it's probably better than trying to ride while drenched in sweat in hot & humid weather.. 32 degree-hot & humid.

thanks for that.
the right crank was ground in the end. it's rare that it will scratch now but still can happen. I do think it's better to get a wider BB or cranks with a bigger offset though.

Hi all,
Had a bike custom-built three months ago, however the crankarms seem to be too close to the frame. Check out the scratches:
The first attempt was to put spacers in to widen it out and that seemed to help but still not quite enough. I dont know if it's possible to put more spacers in or if there are other/better methods to go about fixing this? The bike shop mentioned that they'll grind the crankarms but doesnt sound like a proper way to fix this problem. Is this a common problem?
Thanks for your feedback..

great thanks everyone.
I used three toothpicks first to create a gap - sticking them in at different angles. then when wide enough I used the bottle cap opener / screwdriver tool found on a swiss army knife to prise them apart a bit further so I can slide the rotor in and have it move freely without touching the pads.
everything seems to be back in order.

hey All,
I went out biking tonight.. had to go a bit of a distance so I took my front wheel off to put the bike in a cab (quick-release in front). that was fine.. I got out, put the wheel back on and did'er up. coming back home was a different story: took the wheel off again, arrived home, tried to put the wheel back on and realized the front pads on my disc brake are locked or stuck together. I cant put the rotor inside the calipers (I had the bike upside down on the way home). did I do something wrong?
any idea how I can fix this problem?
thanks for your advice..

hi there,it sounds like you have got oil or somthing else on your pads or disc ,my advice is to take out pads an sand them down an give your disc a good clean to any god bike cleaner will do the trick
yeah, that's probably it. it's not that horrible of a sound and they are working fine so I'll try cleaning it.
Nail varnish remover works far far better, just whatever you do make sure you wash everything off thoroughly.thanks for the info.. I'll try this if I'm gonna clean them.

alright thanks.
the brake seems to work fine, I'd suspect its some oil on the pads or rotor that is what's causing the noise.
is it ok to clean the rotor with light soap & water and dry thoroughly?

hey all,
I recently got a trials bike and both wheels use disc brakes. my rear wheel makes a honking sound when lightly pressing the brake. I heard it's normal for other types of brakes, but I thought I read somewhere that it's not normal for disc brakes. what do you think? is it normal or is something not set-up properly?
thanks for your help!
