  1. Just don't pay, a verbal contract is binding, let them take you to court if they have a problem, they wont because it isn't worth it. I think carphone warehouse are utter pants, i got a bill ages ago on a contract i wasn't even using, i phoned up and said i wasn't going to pay, they said i had to, i said if thy wanted me to pay they would have to take m to court where they would have to prove i had used it. I hung up stopped the direct debit and never got another bill.

  2. Hi,

I seem am trying to fix a PC for a friend, I need to reinstall windows, but i cannot use a key board or mouse with the PC, after boot screen. I can enter BIOS and Boot menu, but them keyboard fails. I can start and let PC run as far as the login screen but then the mouse and keyboard wont work so I cant log in.

I have googled this, and found a few options, none of which work for me. (remove mother board battery, change keyboard / mouse)

Has any body else has this and found a solution that worked, or maybe offer some alternative solutions???

    Thanks in advance!

  3. I have a virgin broadband internet connection, i have recently brought a ethernet switch, so i can have internet on 2 computers. I have my connection going into the switch, and a ethernet cable plugged into my first pc, then internet on this one works fine. I then have another ethernet cable coming out of another port on the switch to a second pc, this comes up with you have limited or no connectivity, and i cant get online! ARRRRGGGGGGHHHHHH!! any ideas please? been playing for 2 days now and cant get it working! Have i done something wrong? or do i need something else or can it not be done?

    Any help appreciated, thanks!

  4. Heat it up with a blow torch around the outside of the head tube (until red hot), then dunk it in cold water and use your tool, will DEFINITELY work after a few heats and dunks, BUT it will damage the paint, so depends how desperate you are to get it out. I have used this on car bearings, alot bigger and a lot stucker (??). I once had a awkward headset in a bmx frame, broke one of them headset tools trying to get it out (snapped a tooth) and didnt have a blow torch at the time, so i put the headset cup into a vice, tightened it right up and twisted the frame, it came loose after a few twists and then came out with the broken headset tool! (Maybe give that a go, might scratch to headset though!)

  5. SORRY!! DIDNT READ IT ALL!!!

Really isn't worth contesting, the courts see you as a nuisance! A freind of mine who got pulled over at night on the motorway, coming off the motorway and said he had no seatbelt on! When he had it on whilst he was talking to the police office, who replied with PROVE IT. The police officer was pissed because he thought my mate had been speeding but didn't have a camera to prove it! Mate contested it, court said no chance! Police over you! Still got the fine!

System over here is shit! My insurance company had not updated the MIB database when i took insurance out, so the police thought i had no insurance, so took my car off me at the side of the road! Luckily the officer believed me that it was a insurance error so didn't give me a summons to court, but he said if he did, even if i had proof i had insurance they would say it was MY responsibility to check the insurance had update the database! and give me a fine / points / maybe a ban!!!

  6. nothing, I give to charities because I think it's a good cause, not because the BBC tells me to.

not to diminish anyones efforts or intentions, but the modern approach to charity is pathetic.

Surely all this advertising the BBC is doing is making more people aware of how to donate? Making it easier for people to donate? Making people aware of the cause?

If the BBC hadn't done all of this, i for one wouldn't have known about it? how is this modern approach pathetic?

Is it pathetic that there are charity boxes on the counter in Tescos or Asda or Scope? If they weren't there, no body would put any money in them?

They are not standing there saying 'give money to charity, or else!'

  8. Don't know that you would lose ANY necessary strength that you would need, doing as in the pic above, bars and stem held on to steerer, steerer held in place by full tube. front hops put pressure on the steerer and may stretch the welds, where the head tube is welded to the frame, but you havn't affected that, so i cat see your are going to cause any problems doing that?!?

Don't know enough about forces to say for certain, but i know a bit to say i would be happy riding it!

  10. IDE cable (long thin grey/black one, 16 pin I think) plugs into the write to the motherboard. Make sure you have the master plug (end one) into it if you're using only one writer/reader. The other end is into the motherboard, they're foolproof plugs so you can't go wrong.

Then you need the 4 pin power plug from the PSU (Power supply unit) into the back also, also fool proof :)

The one you recieved is a spare IDE cable, just use the same cable from the old previous reader and you should be ok :)

Do i need to buy these two cables as i only have a long very thin grey one, i think this is an audio calbe??

  11. Hi,
