  1. any headache in the rear wheel?

    Hi, what do you mean?

I would take the pads out have a look at the backing and see if the hole that goes in to the Slave Cylinder is normal and not broke. Why your doing that I would check the Slave Cylinder nipple bit that your pads go and check its not bent or snapped in half or something.

    Will do, thanks.

  2. Good afternoon everyone,

I recently fitted a nearly new rear Magura HS33 to my bike and I'm running yellow pads, Onza Citrus I think.

When I'm up on the back wheel I noticed what feels like a considerable ammount of play in the rear wheel which I have now discovered is down to the brake pads moving from side to side whilst locked on, maybe only 1/2 mm but it is noticeable and irritating.

Has anyone else had this? and is there a quick fix?

    Cheers

  3. needs a few changes, so i wouldnt say a complete bargain to be honest mate, bars and pads possibly the stem aswell, looks good for the money though :D

I'd ignore the above comment, what an absolute steel, great find.

  4. Personally I think this is all a bit ridiculous, the riding looks pretty damn good to me and if the guy wants to ride a 24" then let him.

If I rode 24" and put a lot of time and effort in to making a video and then people were slating me for riding a bike that I feel comfortable on (regardless or size) then I'd be pretty upset and it's posts like these that put me off bothering to post a video of my own riding on here.

He looks like he's in proportion with the bike anyhow.

  5. dude i really dont care if my spelling and grammar are right or wrong i live in the real world , in my other posts like bring back old skool i had a lot of nice replys. the hs33 thing i am just hiting my head. The reson i put this post up is i have land i have dj's and bands i use to run my owen demo team and know a hell of a lot of bike distributers and can put a really good event on. But to be honest from what i have seen on the forum i would not give my time up to put it on for ungreatfull people. But now ill do it by invite only ,it will cost ME a lot of money to do and i ant paying out to have kids turn up and not see how much work has gone in to to do.

Riley; if you dont like post dont add to it ..

Ash-Kennard ; thanks dude. a invite will be sent if i put it on.

    :(

If you had explained it in a more exciting way then I would have been interested.

Instead of: I might run a show in the south or sumthing, fancy coming?

  6. Personally, I would prefer to have a disc on the front as it gives you a bit more modulation and has slightly less of an "on / off" feel.

To be fair though I think it is down to personal preference, you need to try them both and see which one best suits your riding style, what might work for one person will not for another.

  7. I find that a great way to take grips off without using lube is to undo the brake lever so that it is loose, push it up to the edge of the grip and rotate the lever backwards and forwards about a quarter rotation whilst pulling against the grip towards the end of the bars.

Keep wiggling and the grip will come off a treat, never failed me so far ;)

  8. Morning guys,

I live in Bristol but won't be coming out for this ride.

I haven't rode for 4 or 5 years now as I moved away from town and couldn't really ride my bike anywhere but have been building a bike over the last couple of months ready for the summer.

My bike is nearly completed and I'm just waiting for the front disc rotor.

Basically please keep me in mind next time your in Bristol as most of the guys I used to ride with don't any more :( .

I live in town so if it's cool, let us know when/if your down next time and I'll come and meet up with you?

    Cheers

  9. I used HS11's a few years ago and once set up properly they do the job ok to be fair.

Make sure they the brake pads hit the rim square on and not from an angle, and have the brake pads fairly close in and the pad adjustment on the lever (which if I remeber is an allen key bolt under the lever near the master cylinder?) is at a low setting, (hope that makes sence).

Also , if your running a HS11, I'm guessing they are on a 2 bolt frame/fork? If so (and your not running a booster) then the frame will flex a good un as a 2 bolt frame will not have a built in booster, frames / forks with a specific 4 bolt attachement for Magura's normally allways have some type of reinforcing to stop the power of the piston pushing the frame / forks out when they hit the rim.

    Hope this helps.

  10. It depends what spacing you'll be running on your cassette - 8 speed spacing or 9 speed spacing?

If you are planning to run 6 gears you'll need 9 speed spacing, which would need a specific 9 speed cassette. I would recommend 5 speed or less, then you can run a good chain like Trialtech Lite Z610.

I'm not sure actually, never ran a 6 speed before.

    It's a HG70 if that helps?

If not I'll try and find out what the spacing is and get back to you.

    Cheers

  11. I'm building a new stock for the summer and have a Hope Pro 2 Trials on the rear.

I've decided to run a 6 speed cassette as it's a bit of a trek to get anywhere from my house so the extra couple of lower gears will really help.

My question is can anyone recommend a decent chain that can be used with 6 speed cassette?

Had a quick look on Tarty and none seem compatible >_<

    Cheers
