  1. been with my lovely partner for a few months now, everything is going well and im very happy. the one thing that annoys me is shes always on her blinking phone on Facebook or chatting, i know who she chats too etc so not a problem there. its just really annoying at times, any ideas how i can get her off it more? what annoys you about your partners?

i still do come on here, just reading and lurking in the background ha

  2. wow, well after that, she send me a few pictures & a few messages, i got the best friends facebook a few days ago as we started chatting (met her at the carnival) then found out she was engaged LOL i feel pretty used! but finding it funny really, poor lad marrying her! time to go after the bestmate........

  3. met a girl through online dating, chatted for around 1 month and ive seen her 4 times (mainly within 1 week or so) i actually think shes pretty cool, she said how nice & fun it was and was up for doing it more.......now out the blue, havent heard anything for 4 or so days & every time i suggest meeting up a few weeks ago, she would get all funny with "ill let you know". time to move onto the next girl or is she playing hard to get? whats everyone's views, found another guy? i wouldn't normally write in here but my mind is constantly thinking about her??? no point in dwelling & now onto the next one if thats the case!

if you recon shes playing hard to get, whats the best way to deal with it?

  4. its really not bad at all, abit sqeally around the corners but that's to be expected lowered on cheap coilovers with standard set up, its only on standard map (150bhp) with just a few mods (decat, intercooler, dv etc) but packing a good punch against more powered cars like mr2's, golf r32s, octavia vrs's so very happy indeed! that was my 4th time at castle combe so ive decided to give Thruxton ago next month :)

  5. Driving through Bristol tonight I saw a fully stanced MX-5. It looked f**king terrible.

wasn't a black one by any chance, with chrome wheels? saw one at Bristol a few weeks back - absolutely ridiculous!

  6. what would a bad throttle position sensor do? my car (523i) doesn't rev high on cold start, its ok when its warm but then randomly cuts out (chucks the eml & asl ight on) turn the ignition back & forth a few times and its back to normal again. ill be investigating in the next few days to obviously check the throttle position sensor plug hasn't came unloose or anything stupid like that, don't have access to a diagnostics until weekend at soonest but im suspecting iv got a faulty lambda aswell.

  7. fairplay :) will get you buzzing around anyway!

    https://www.ukpoliceonline.co.uk/index.php?/topic/25771-can-i-ride-a-motorbike-to-a-pre-booked-mot-without-tax/

Old but says it's ok there, unsure if it has changed since though other topics I've read through (elsewhere and more recent, link has credibility) say the same too. I'm guessing its illegal to ride it out of the mot place if it passes with no tax hahaha

thanks for posting that up, yeah exactly that, ill take that risk :P

  8. Not that I want to scare you, but I've had the very same issue that continued to reoccur on a customers motor. Poor starting when cold, obvious misfire, down on power etc...

BM engines are good for slipping timing chains if they've not already had one, to the point where they either won't run at all or run very poorly. My example had bits of the timing chain guides that had broken away drawn into the oil pump assembly and was holding open the oil pressure relief valve. We put it down to not supplying adequate oil pressure to the variable cam pulleys / chain tensioner and as a result it was throwing the cam timing out enough to both alter the fueling (phase sensor controls this off the cam) where it wouldn't Fire correctly or overfueled so badly on startup it would bore wash the cylinders and the engine would lose compression.

I had to disassemble the oil pump and fit a new timing chain before the problem was resolved.

Thanks for the reply, always appreciated.

crikey, that sounds bad, i'm new to BM engine so its a learning curve

investigated today, unplugged the MAF & ran a hell of a lot better, turns out one of the prongs has snapped off! coil packs all off same with the spark plugs, the loud knocking turned out to be secondary radiator fan protector bent in, hence knocking on the fan when it kicked in.

  9. bought a bmw 523i 2.5 petrol not long ago,

engine management light is on, when cold starting it wont rev above 3k, jerky as a pig if you do drive it cold, almost feels like its trying to cut out

when its warm it feels boggy as anything in high revs, doesn't accelerate like it should, nor when your revving it the revs are sluggish on comedown

every now and then i get a catastrophic banging noise coming from the engine bag

any suggestions? ive has a new in-take fuel pump put in as a mouse had some fun!

  10. been offered a civic type r ep3, currently on 126,000 miles, anything i should look out for on these? should i be worried about the mileage as its obviously been flawed in the past with it having a exhaust system, induction & has no service history for the past 30k miles. i guess as-long as its been serviced well by the previous owner it should have plenty more life?
