  1. I have Saint brakes on my Sky2. I'm not using adaptors - the rear is the post mount version and the front is IS160. The brakes have incredible bite and don't slip. A bit of pad knock, but no more than any other disc brakes on the market. Weight is a bit higher than the Hope techs. If you can live with that, I would definitely recommend them.

I'm not too bothered about the weight really. I'm glad someone who's used a set has replied to this, have you ever used a mono trial? How does it compare to the saint?

  2. Shimano brakes do tend to be incredably reliable, but as Ali's said the servo wave feature make the brake unpredictable for precise brake control.

In "pure" trials though, I would definately recommend them. Ive ridden a few bikes with them fitted, a 26" included, and they dont budge. So much easier to setup than hopes too.

I'm considering maybe buying a set for myself in the comming year.

So what does "Servo wave" actually do? I haven't looked into it but it certainly sounds like a downside if it makes the brake unpredictable

  3. I've been thinking about going for a rear saint disc on my mod. I'm running a mono trial at the moment and as good as it is I'd like a little more power. Has anyone on here used one? I'd like to know if it's worth going for one over my hope.

  4. Yes... though whether or not Dad will let me drive down there is another matter (He's a complete cock about letting me drive) so i'll have a word with him tomorrow.

Whereabouts in Leicester would I be parking (So I have some information to give him...)?

Lancaster road's where we normally park, it's £3.20 all day and pretty close to crown courts where people usually meet
  5. i have the same problem with my mono i have to space out the caliper from the frame, but after reading this i take it must be my viz hub as they are same dimensions as onza hubs, so if i got a different hub this would cure this problem?

It should do yeah, i don't know if it's worth changing your hub though it's only a few spacers

  6. Ah, right - was going to suggest running them on the outside of your frame if you were able to, but yeah, never mind :P

Well that would solve my problem, if it was possible. If only onza didn't make their hubs such a flingin' flangin' awkward spacing.

  7. I had to use quite a few spacers to mount my rear mono trial because of the odd spacing of onza hubs, so to be on the safe side I'd like to get some slightly longer bolts. I think the standard ones are M6 x 18, I'm not sure how bolt measurements work so what would I need to add a few mm's of thread? Any help appreciated! Thanks.

  8. Wouldn't they do the £899 price, minus the echo frame price, which would come to £593.64 + because frame price, which comes to £847.94

    I duno, but they might?

"The specification at this price is completely fixed including colours. If you want to change any parts, the only way to do it is to purchase them separately and add them afterwards. We cannot offer any discount for taking parts off the bike"

I'd want to do it all properly the first time rather than ride it for a bit and then faff about with devalued parts.

It seems like that would be the best way to do it but obviously it's up to you.

  9. Yes, the dropouts on the frame are funny shape, so compared to other frames the disk has to be alot further inwards. You can use the monty hub on onza frames aswell :)

As for putting your hub in an echo frame, i dont know

It's a 110mm hub so with cams I'm guessing it'll be fine, well I hope so anyway.
