    Summer Video

I know I'm not anyone to say this but I think it was impressive! If i may ask, how long have you been riding?
  2. Nevertheless. The last one matters the most.
  3. I'm happy to say that I haven't lost my motivation just yet. The progress is slow though and I haven't noticed any big experience gain in any tricks. When I'm practicing keeping balance I tend to hop when I'm just about to fall. How does this compare to rocking on higher levels? It works well for me and it doesn't need a secondary correction (as described here http://free-du.htnet.hr/trials/faq.html#q3_1 ). Although it may take some more energy. Oh, and unless you don't think I deserve it, I wouldn't mind being validated.
  4. Thanks for the replies! Just one question, is learning trials like learning how to ride a bicycle? I mean, once you got a trick, is it hard to forget?
  5. Thanks for the response! I've actually ridden some dirt a couple of years ago and I regularly follow my father out on the XC trails. I don't feel any trouble in bringing the wheel up, the problem is keeping it there. I find it a lot easier to use an upwards slope in order to learn trackstand and I'm not using my breakes (am I supposed to?). I definitely would like to see you following on. The more the merrier!
  6. Hey! I read the guidelines and it doesn't look like this will break any of the rules. I started a thread a while ago asking a couple of questions regarding trials bikes. As a result I ordered an Onza rip which's riding nicely (received it yesterday). Anyway, the point of this thread is mainly motivation. I've not yet found a riding buddy so I'm going to post my progress and insights in this thread in order to keep myself motivated and I hope other newbies and non-newbies will tag along . I'm not planning to use it as a post-atleast-once-per-day blog. I'll state when/how I learned a trick and how long it took so that people can use it as a guide as to how long it might take to learn trials. I hope people will find this useful! So far I've only been practicing trackstands, bunnyhops and janking up the front wheel without any real plan. I noticed some improvements such as duration with the wheel in the air but nothing much. Also, where is the spell check option?
  7. Where do you live and how old are you? I've just ordered a mod from Rock and Roll bikes to Stockholm. It was a bit of a hassle but now I'm expecting it atleast.
  8. I think I'll pass on the ebay thing though. Sounds like it would take too much time and hassle to get one home. Not long before the winter is here I'll be getting an onza rip and I'll let anyone who's interested know how I progress on it Thanks for the help people
  9. Yea, tarty would send it to me for 20£. So that's my primary choice. And I'm probably going with the onza rip, although it costs alot more on tarty then on R&R bikes. I'll try to find out if R&R bikes ship to Sweden. If someone could please answer my other questions in the official post I'd be very thankful
  10. You're probably right. There doesn't seem to be any apparent difference between them that would be worth that much more money. As for disk versus v's though. Are disks always considered to be better or is it a matter of choice? For regular bikes, v's have never bothered me but in trial it's really important that the wheels hold completely still. Problem is that i live in Sweden. Wouldn't I have to come and pick it up? In the swedish equivalent I couldn't find anything much, atleast not close to my location. Do you know if rock and roll bikes ship to sweden? Otherwise It only leaves tartybikes (right?).
  11. Thans for the quick reply. Would the onza last as long as the yaabaa? How does the feel to the bikes compare? The price is significantly lower though. I can't even pretend to know whether the specs are good or not so I appreciate the help
  12. Nice forum! I and my brother have decided to start trialing so I'd like some questions answered From what I've read a 20'' bike would suit me as a glove but my brother is thinking of fixing up our dirtbike ( http://archive.giant-bicycles.com/uk/030.000.000/030.010.000.asp?year=2006&model=10271 ) to use as a bit of a trial bike. How would it compare to a 26''? What does the learning curve look like? I can barely do a wheelie :$ so I'm wondering how much time it would take to learn how to first stand still, then get some balance on the individual wheels. What do you think of this bike for a guy who wouldn't like to buy a new one in a year or so because he needs something better? http://www.tartybikes.co.uk/product.php?product_id=10989&category_id=10 Thanks
