  1. What front brake do you have? And pads?

Some pads work best on smooth rims too, so a grinded rim will shred the pad if used excessively!

As said above answers your question. Don't forget if your riding downhill anywhere, you'll either have to skid the back tyre and wear that down, brake with the front (but you'll have no pads left at the bottom), or walk. Or go flying down it brakeless....... :helmet:

    +1

My hs33 is running rockman cnc pads, no grind, and instead of tar i run it with cocacola, holds like a dream :D

  2. the way i started was brakeless, it sounds stupid, but instead of rocking onto you're back wheel using the brake, try rocking and getting you're wheel up with pressure on the pedals.

when you get to taht point hit the pedals and hop ( not to hard ) when you land the wheel may roll out underneath you so it would be good to start on grass to save broken a broken ass.

Anyway after you manage the hop part try and land with you're brake on then go for another hop, after a while you should be able to get 1-3 hops but not keep going, its all about getting you're own personal point of balence, and when you do you will just get better and better. I hope this helped, Zac

  3. sounds strange but on my mod i did it a completely differnt way .

when i was trying to learn pedal hops my back brake was terible so i kicked, hopped, kicked, hopped, fell on my ass . so basicly i learnt to do 2 or 3 without the brake and then when i bought a new brake it was easy

  4. Well ive got a set of 09 sl's ive had for the best part of a year , with me they flex a bit on the bite of my disc but i bought the disc only set in silver so theres no weaker hs33 weld spots to snap and im 11 stone. my sl's will still probably of snapped by this time next year.

  5. Grinds are good but a smooth rim can be just as bitey with some brake spray or fruit juice or genrally something that drys sticky like coca cola . i use a smoth rim and rockman blues and if i didnt have dry coca cola on my rim theyd be hopeless. but with coca cola stand up to the grip of most grinds

    i hope this helps

  6. I used to get this problem alot and would get snake bite puntctures every other day.

for know just carry a repair kit and minipump around in a bag . But i found the cause , I was using a starnderd bmx tube in a 19" by 2.5" back creepy crawler , This causes the tube walls to expand to have to reach the sidewalls of the tyre and therfore the tube will stretch and the walls of the tube will get thinner and puncture ALOT .

there are 2 things that can be done to sort it out . 1 run the tyre at higher pressure and you wont get so many pinch flats but one day will explode , And the second one is get a proper trials tube and you can run at whatever pressure you wish and have no problems atall . well unless you do roll over alot of thorns

    hope this hellped

  7. It depends how good you are and how cofident you are on the back wheel . When i just started learning pedal hops what helped me ballence and grips was running at about 15 psi , But know ive got crank hops down i find ballence for attempts at sidehop hops easyer at about 25-30 psi . ive got a freind who runs his onza comp at abut 7 psi and hes just starting trials , of course this all changes when your on a stock
