  1. Bear in mind that most street/park/DJ frames have suspension corrected geo, which means they are designed to work with a certain length fork, and puting rigids on will alter the geometry quite significantly, ie lowering the bb height, altering the head angle. Get an inspired. Its made for it. Simples

I actually find that to be a positive, given that a lot of dj bikes have quite slack headangles putting a shorter rigid on can do wonders for handling - however not so good if you want a high bb.

  2. I ride a dirt/street frame like you describe and find the weight of an overbuilt steel frame/forks to be a bit of an issue, aswell as BB height being too low makes all the core trials move a lot harder to get right.

However it is great on two wheels, and I wouldn't have an issue taking it jumping/general riding if I raised the gear ratio.

  3. yeeee I was in hospital for 3 days. blood clot. They say bad luck comes in 3's....probably more like 7's knowing me so far this year

Nasty stuff, your not taking creatine too are you? can cause blood clots.

Regarding the original arm pump problem, sounds like tendinitis to me, in which case you are way overdoing it.

  4. I would suggest you put a curtain rail up and have your computer area hidden behind a curtain just in case you ever manage to get a girl over for some sexy time.

Kind of like the don't look behind the curtain scene in the wizard of oz!

  5. Its not about looking at 8 screens at once, its about not having to rearrange workspace to see everything, when doing web design a typical usage might be;

Chrome - google for problem solving,

    A pdf explaining whatever,

    test server settings,

    testing web browser,

    html code,

    file directory,

    php code,

    more php code,

There we go, eight screens and eight things that might fill them at any one time, seamless switching from one to the other. And more still that could be added to the list.

  6. Where do you get monitors for 35 pounds?!

Where else but ebay, they are old but so far I've found the only real issue with aging monitors is brightness - the older they get the dimmer they become but I prefer dim monitors as it makes coding a little easier on the eyes.

I'm not sure how great an idea it was to buy them used economically though given £100 would buy me a new monitor, but 8*£35 is a manageable, 8*£100 is certainly not.

They must be really shit monitors.

Personally if I had this 'obsession' I would be keeping it to myself :P

1400 by 900 @ 17" isn't too bad, but yeah still budget monitors.

  7. Finding the cursor is never too big a deal, quick waggle of the mouse and its easy to spot. Though plenty of friends can't grasp this! One good jerk of the mouse gets the cursor across the width of it too.

It only takes two cards to run it all, nvidia quadro 440s iirc, very low power card so hd video is about the limit of its ability - forget about games! all the monitors are cheap vga ones so I don't have the option of running better cards unless I replace the whole eight monitors, something that keeps creeping into my mind - imagine eight 24" monitors, I'd have to buy a second desk so I could sit further back to get it all in view.

Unfortunately I can't get combat flight simulator to run multi-screen, that'd be awesome.

I know its not necessary to have all of them, but its just glorious to be able to see absolutely everything relevant to the task at hand all at once, and have those things surround you.

As for expense, 8*£35 for the monitors, 2*£40 for the cards, 2*£65 for the stands.

I can't help but think if I invite a lady friend over it might come over so well as it is with you guys.

  8. They used to be all the same but one died, having the different one does irk me a bit when it comes using it for productive means, but a 20" screen is a lot better for tv/films than the 17" screen it replaced so I cope with it.

  9. Not sure if anyone has mentioned it, but consult a doctor.

Ok say they may offer you pills, or counselling which I imagine you don't want, and you don't have to accept them. But more importantly there is a slim chance they can identify a medical reason for your depression. I saw a doctor recently and found out I needed way more vitamin D, if you ask your doctor to look for a medical cause for your depression they may find something similar, and if they don't who cares it costs nothing.

I find forcing myself to get up early helps me a lot with my motivation to work, if I get up late I usually end up f**king about all day. I also find there is an optimum way for me to structure my day to get the most studying out of it. Taking regular breaks, say after every 25mins of studying to do something else for 15mins helps me get both tonnes of studying and housework/bikerepair/masturbating in.

EDIT; on sleep patterns you will find that in most people its what time you wake up that will determine what time you will be able to sleep at, to point it another way, if you require 8 hours sleep every night you will struggle to sleep in the evening if you have only been awake 12hrs, and may be lying in bed for another 4 hrs before you will sleep. The upshot being, you need force yourself out of bed even if you have barely slept if you want to change your sleep pattern

  10. Once items are posted, they are then in the hands of Royal Mail or our courier service, and as such, we are not directly responsible for any loss or damage to your item - obviously we will do our best to help out though!

This line annoys me, law is that as far as the customer is concerned they [the shop] are responsible for loss or damage of the item up until the customer takes delivery of it. I've had it quoted to me often enough.

  11. I realise it could be absoloutely anything in that bag to make it heavy but why hasn't he been questioned / mentioned? I thought thats what the people who are meant to be looking out for our welfare do?

How do you know he has not been questioned, or ruled out for whatever reason. The cctv/footage from around the area would have been painfully scrutinized.

  12. See TL;DR below

Entirely co-incidental the craft uniformed people.

If they were there to commit an act of terrorism they wouldn't be covered head to toe in their own/even someone elses logo/uniform as its a dead give away that they aren't there to run/cheer people on, they wouldn't be clearly meeting up as a group afterwards either, and specially not walking around openly carry suspicious devices. It would be the easiest thing to rig the bomb to go off upon by sending a text message so why wouldn't they.

The man with the bag; given the size of the group it seems statistically likely that someone will have a bag with a similar strap, ignoring the fact that the images are too poor to be of use.

Here is a point on logical arguments, Logic is no basis for proof in the real world, logic only provides proof within the realm of pure mathematics where all variables can be known and accounted for. In the real world there is a near infinity of variables with which you can provide logical arguments for and against any idea/theory you please by picking and choosing the variables[or facts] that happen to fit. This is the reason why there is so much bogus science around, and why real science, or detective work is based on rigorous testing and analysis.

Now we don't have access to the thousands of man hours worth of information that must of been collected on this act of terrorism, and we certainly don't have the collective experience of the people investigating this crime.

    TL;DR below.

People who are officially investigating this crime; thousands, all committed to finding the responsible party [can't possibly keep all of them from talking/providing hard evidence of conspiracy]

    their collective experience; invaluable

the pool of information they have available to help them; unthinkably large

    against

Conspiracy theorist; few, communication probably over an internet forum

    Collective experience; worthless,

their pool of information; purely what is deemed ok to be shown on tv.

I know who my money is on to get the right guy.
