  1. Looks like a pretty clean over-take to me.

Ive seen it abroad where lorries would overtake other lorries, and you could see that there was oncoming traffic

It looked pretty close too. I was planning on overtaking the lorry till he pulled out.

Faster moving vehicle overtakes slower moving vehicle on a perfectly straight road.

    STOP THE PRESS!

My bad, ill stop ringing the BBC so they don't put it on the news tonight.

He is Cornish, this is probably the most exciting thing that has happened all week.

Yep, pretty much. Nothing ever really happens down here lol. Thanks for your comments.

  2. I have a driving story to share.

I was driving with my mate in the car, going down the old A30 in Cornwall. Next minute the lorry in front of us pulled onto the other side of the road, revealing a tractor in front of it, and it actually did it, it nailed the tractor and stormed off.

Im so glad i had my GoPro set up as a dash cam, heres the video.

  3. Hi,

I wasn't completely sure were to post this so i thought off topic would be fine.

I put a thread up earlier of me learning trials, but i had to but the link in to show the videos which took you to youtube.

So what im asking is, how do you embed the video so that its already there and you don't have to be redirected to youtube.

    Thanks

  4. your doing well.

    balance is good

    keep at it man

    good luck

Having roots in BMX definitely will help you out..keep at it ;)

Thanks for both of your comments. I will do, i've set myself small goals. Like being able to balance and drop of a picnic bench in a month, that kinda thing :)

  5. Hi everyone,

I got my Mad Phase 1.2 on saturday. I used to do a bit of bmxing about 3-4 years ago. I took my bike out the first day i got it and started practising. I took some videos of myself so i could see my progression. Here they are.

This is the day i got it so Day/Session 1

This is my second session after resting for a day due to lots of aches :D

How do you think im getting on??

    Thanks

  6. I don't know where he lives. And the tread seemed heated. I wasn't having a pop.

So he's able to use the correct tools or access expert advise. And yes he's silly not to use that. Like I said not how I or anyone else would do it.

Was only trying to be nice and to cool down the thread. Clearly I won't get involved next time. I don't know why I bothered as meant in my other post its a pointless thread.

    Cheers

  7. All I can say is if he's got the money to keep buying new parts let him get on with it.

Not personally how I'd do it and I'm sure it's not how everyone else would do either. But chill guys.

I don't think it's aimed to piss anyone off, but to show how he does it using his knowledge and resources.

Boom. End of. Next thread please :D

  8. When I've read through some the topics on here and seen the descriptions of bike for sale, sometimes they mention that the brakes are water bled?

Do you use water or oil for hydraulic brakes because i would have thought if you put water in the insides would rust?

plus if you use oil but water bleed wont the left over water mix with the oil?

Im not planning on bleeding my brakes at the mo as i haven't got my bike yet, but could someone answer this for my as i don't understand.

    Thanks

  9. I've been into trials for years but not often road.

My dad got me into it as he used to ride with 'Martin Lampkin', Dougies father. I did a little bit of motorcycle trials when I was younger, I really enjoyed it but I didn't stick to it.

A few years later I discovered bicycle trials which of course I was interested in but could never afford a bike.

A few more years on (last week) I decided to get a trials push bike as I had some money to treat myself before crimbo. Also by this time YouTube is huge and I watched lots of trials vids including Danny Mac which 'inspired' me more.

So learning the basics over crimbo then taking my new found skills out in the new year :D

  10. Thanks again for the comments. I can't afford to upgrade at the mo so il just replace things when something happens :)

No I don't mind, paid £120 for the bike, lil bit more for postage. He said he bought it new last year so hoping he's guna send the receipt like I asked.

Wanted a zoot but I couldn't afford like 170-250 used lol but hey I'm happy with the phase.

Looking forward to getting it in the post this week and practising on the drive so I'm hopefully ready for next year to go out and play :)

  11. Is it the red one that was on pinkbike?

Not sure, i bought it on ebay but they may have advertised it on there too.

Ideal, ill bare that in mind as im not sure were id start when upgrading once i become a bit more experienced.

I have pics on the new thread.

  12. So I've just bought my first trials bike, a used MAD Phase 1.2, little tatty in places but is still strong overall. I don't mind the scuffs and that as im sure being my first bike ill put plenty more on it :D

    Quick Spec:

-26" wheels with Maxxis high rollers (there's a cheap tyre on the front currently, another high roller will be on when i receive the bike)

    -SRAM 8 speed gears

-front and rear Magura HS33 hydraulic rim brakes

    -suntour duro cranks

I have some plans to paint it later on once i become a bit better just to freshen it up.

Here are some pictures, let me know what you think.

  13. Wow. One of the best forums I've been on for feedback. I appreciate everyone's input.

However I didn't manage to get the bike, it was slightly out of my price range. Bit gutted, but have found something else :)

I've just bought and paid for a used MAD Phase 1.2 a fair bit cheaper than the zoot. So looking forward to receiving it in the post hopefully end of next week.

I've read some good things about these too, although I did watch someone on a video snap their forks, but ill just replace with stronger ones if it ever came to that.

Although I was looking for a 24" I think for the price of the Phase 1.2 it will make a half decent learning bike.

I will post some pics up shortly on a new thread.

  14. i didnt know theres a seatless one...pics?

I haven't bought it yet and the picture is bad but here it is..

I dunno about the two different frames, or specifically the 2010 model but I just bought a 2012 Zoot and am pretty happy with it. Personally if your looking at pure trials I wouldn't recommend it but if you are going to go more down the streety road then it's a decent bike to learn on, just needs a few changes to make it perfect but it's very ride-able with out them

Thanks for your comment, i am looking to go kinda street as i have 3 towns about 20mins from where i live and a city where i travel to Uni. I'll probably start at home with wood pallets or something, i also have a sitting bench i could use.

  15. Hi,

Im new to the forum and looking at getting my first trials bike. Ive seen a 2010 Onza Zoot that im quite interested in, it has no seat and the 24" rims which im cool with, so thought i would read up a bit more on it.

Basically when i was reading up i saw that there were two different frames, or one with a seat and one without, i just wanted to know what the difference was, if any at all.

Also what do people think of the 2010 Onza Zoot?

    Thanks, Josh
