You'll want to get a trials orientated tyre, when I went from standard mtb tyres to trials ones I felt an enormous difference, less punctures too.
-
can you buy fronts with rear rims pre-built from anywhere? i heard tarty dont do it..
-
The levelboss is a good frame, the 0bb rise and short stems can make it feel quite streety.
But yeh I'd say its good if your new, try and get a decent rear hope wheel build. That makes for a quite low maintenance bike.
-
They should try one up north, im sure alot of people can't attend due to the distance. Including me
-
I had problem with the wire bead on that tyre, kept poking out and popping the tube.
-
Was looking through the internet at trials bikes and came across a pic off a koxx levelboss with a seat post and v mounts, it was an American site so couldn't find any were to buy it.
just wondering if anyone knows about any in the uk. Cheers

Try violin rosin, its like hard tree sap, just as good as tar id say and not as messy on the rims!

that x 4 ^^^^

older comp bikes with 0 BB rise are good for both tgs and bmx'ing....
-
That bike weighs as much as my son did when he was born, lol

Hi all,
Like it says I've started a project with a salcano 255 frame, the frame is very light. Haven't weighed it yet but its as light as any trials frame I've had.
Anyways I was wondering if using older trials parts of the for sale section would be an ok idea for it.
The frame isn't painted so im going for the full chromed look, already got chromed zoo bars to go on it. Just need everything else....
Thanks, olie

Cut your side knobs off
Cut them off the nevegal and its all sorted, can't hit the rim if I try and feels hella bouncy.
Supprising how much differance a tyre makes. Thanks doc

I used to use a 2.5 Maxxis Minion or a Try All Tyre on the rear of my Levelboss (similar age). Never had a problem. Is it just rubbing one side?
Yeh its hard to get it to stop rubbing, tried a 2.5 nevagal with a quick wheel true and it still stoped with one spin.
-
That's what I need, how much if that was a hint?
-
sorry, ment 2.3, a Tioga dh 2.3 but its side walls are soooo flimsy, do you know of any that size that are trials specific rears? Cheers doc

Hello, got a very frustrating problem.
The tyre clearance on the my koxx levelboss is very small (3.5 is the biggest it can take) and was wondering if there is any tyres that size that are avalible these days that won't make me smash my rim and pop inertubes.
Thanks, olie

Also you might want some rigid forks, to lower the front end for rear wheel stuff. And they weigh a ton!

YBN chain is the same as gusset tank but doesn't say gusset on it
Thanks you just reminded me about ybn, I think they do mini Moto bike chains just small enough for trials, I know someone who has ran the same chain for around 13 years and still going strong
-
I think I'll get the tank chain, looks the strongest so I'll never be breaking it or replacing it. Price ain't bad
and what is that nice looking chain called?
-
I'm getting sick of chains snapping on me and know nothing about what type of chains you can and shouldn't use for trials, so was wondering what the best/strongest one you can buy. Thanks
-
I did a similar thing but it was just a 3 ft hop of a well and landed flat, the next thing I know im lying on top of my bike one the floor.
Snapped at the steerer
-
80 degree stem?! Gee whiz!
just realised that's impossible! Don't I feel a tool :|
-
The original one is unbranded, if its been replaced already, s'all good.

Yeh had to change the frame, the length from the bb shell to the rear axel if far too long for me, well the whole thing is too long for me but you should be ok at over 6ft tall. But seriously get a new rear hub, its the one thing people told me when i inquired about the bike.
Bad news from World cup in Krakow...
