  1. my hayes is very on and off. sometimes it can be ace and work really well other times for no apparent reason it goes shitty.

also mine doesnt seem to like getting wet, cause when it gets soaked its like it has had oil on it which is very strange.

im going to be getting a mono trial on pay day though.

Mine is like that i think it is because of the black pads that are supplied with it,But im getting some new pads. I would say get the Hayes and you will love it.

  2. what pads did you have in there?????

if you had gold then they are one of the best pairs anyway so would have to try some EBC reds, but usually the gold ones are awesome!!!!!

if they are contaminated they wont work too well.

    Waynio.......................

They are the ones that came with it the performance ones black on the back. I thought bout trying the A2Z anyone trid them?

    cheers

  3. Im after soon new disc pads for my Hayes disc and want to get some different ones to the hayes cause im not too impressed with them in the wet. Just wondering which ones people have used and wha they thought of them?

    cheers

  4. On the news last night they said the olympics will cost around 5 billion and that there will be mountain biking somewhere to the east end of london so they may include trials if there was enough entrys from the countrys taking part.

  5. Been thinking bout the new ashton and think it looks dead nice so hopefully going to get one, Just wondering if anyone else is going to get one? Think it a nice change being black instead of the silver that everybike coming out now is and having the seat is another nice change from the seatless norm.

    Cheers, Andy

  6. Afternoon, all last week my disc kept making a chinging noise when i tapped the bars so i took the brake off and checked it over. I noticed one of my rotor bolts was loose and would not tighten up  . This is the first time i tok the bolt out and now it just wont tighten properly and all the bolts had thread lock on. I have thought about using Araldite on the bolt but have i got a chance of getting the bolt out if i use it? B)

    Soory to waffle.

    Lester :P

  7. When i do a disc cleanup it comes uo with over 3gb of compressed files, i was told that if i compress them it will take longer for my computer to boot up? Am i best to compress them or just format my computer when it gets to bout 5gb?

    Any help appreciated.

    Lester :S

  8. I use Win mx and it connects but alot of the music that comes out today doesnt download but old songs do. Apparently the police are closing down on the programmes like Win mx and kazaa to stop them being used.

  9. Edit: and can someone tell me how to remove the pads on my HFX-9? (Y) i think i lost a bit of fluid yesterday by taking the caliper half off :"> as i thought one of the bolts held the pads in! (N)

to take the pads out if you look at the back of the caliper there will be a small tab sticking out where the rotor slots between the pads. Pull that with a pair of needle nosed pliers and the pad comes out. You have to remove the caliper from the is mount to get the other out.

    Hope that helped :)

  10. I decided to go for the 6inch hfx-9 mk2. Has plenty of power and can hold my 12 stone of weight. Took me a while to set up didnt no it slid on the is mount so couldnt get it to stop rubbing as it didnt have instructions. Only problem i got is with the pads, will change for the sintered version. Will agree about the lever really comfy. Overall good brake would recommend as an alternative to Hope etc.

  11. its the 6inch rotor i got. it just seems to move itself over to one side all the time, i can recenter it but after pulling the lever it just moves over to one side or the other, and is as tight as i can get the bolts.

    its getting rather annoying now.

    cheers for the reply anyway

  12. Last week i brought a Hayes hfx-9 mk2 disc, it took ages to get the disc centered and everything was fine but after riding bout twenty minutes the disc started rubbing on the pads. I have tried all different sized spacers and without spacers but it keeps rubbing, would gettin the mount faced sort it?

    cheers for any help

  13. im going to be using an 8" (203mm) hayes dh mk 2 or something on my new bike, should be beasty. i am going to have it done by the end of this week so i can tell you how it is in like 5days...if you want to know pm me and i will tell you or something when i have used it a bit more (Y) .
