  1. Hey Cosmic.

The cassette is literally a joblot of Shimano HG/IG 6-7-8spd rings with alloy spacers in between them.

You can buy a brand new HG cassette of eBay for not a lot. Just remove the 4 long grub screws holding the larger rings together and ditch anything larger that 18T.

I put an extra 11T on mine so I have some road speed when I go out with the wife n kids on a bike ride.

The gear spacers used on 6-8spd cassettes are all the same size so get the right thickness spacers and don't miss any gear sizes otherwise it won't shift.

Then just space it up so the cassette lockring goes on properly and set your rear mech deadstops accordingly, et voila.

  2. Eloquently put bud.

I just hope my kids keep following their parents examples of being active and doing great physical things instead of having their faces stuck in an iPad, something we all never had. (Except my Atari Lynx & Spektrum ;) )

I do have one more Kujo DH in the same condition if anyone needs one.

  3. Maguras, you younger lot have no idea what shit we had to work with in the mid/late 90's!

Maguras don't count as an innovation from this millennium I don't think.

I was running HS33's in the mid 90's. Couldn't affort a pair mind you. So we usually ran an LX or XTR V-Brake up front.

I'm gonna say geometry on this one. We had to use frames that were non-trials geo to start (unless you were Ashton, Hawyes, Akrigg, Tongue or Cooper)

    16" Merlin baby!! :)

  4. D'you know what. I did originally want Cannondale decals with the correct associated decals but again in good taste, I didn't want any logos that weren't on the bike. My mate is doing me Cannondale font Base Bikes logos for the seat tube and down tube.

Good shout on the Sachs not sram shifter btw. I'd forgotten he used Sachs.

So chuffed with the overall finish though. Looks sweet.

I can't believe it's been 14yrs since I've ridden. Used to ride at Essex Bike Trial Club in the late 90's with Ian Cooper and the Tongue's. My son is 4 and is bike/motorbike nuts so I wanted to be able to blast around with him. He's been off stabilizers for a year so he goes faster than me now! Lol.

I really wanted a retro, nostalgic steed!
