    The Budos Band

Eddie Bo & The Sould Finders

Horace Andy is excellent roots/dub reggae, and the other three are really great deep funk. Definitly worth checking them out!

  2. Trials NEEDS REAL PARTS and FRAMES. I'm very sick of all this chinese made sh!t!

Some of the stuff may be decent, but it's still made in China which means that: the factories that make the products are allowed to emit tons of toxins into the environment (China doesn't have very good environment laws) and the workers make shit while Deng rakes in thousands.

Trials needs more companies like Heatsink, rider owned and make very high quality products. More companies like Leeson, Fresh Products, etc. Trials needs to be more like the bmx industry with higher quality goods at midline prices. You can get a great S&M frame (US made) for $350-400 while a Koxx frame (made in China by ping pong) costs $1200 a frame.

I don't think anything really innovative will come. Better parts are a must in my opinion.

    Sorry for my rant.

  3. Basically what the topic says. I'm stuck on which one to get. I've heard tons of good reviews on the Hope Mini (I don't think they're in production anymore but I can still get ahold of one). I've heard the mono mini isn't as good as it sounds. I've heard many mixed reviews on the Monotrial, some love it some hate it.

BTW, its for a mod bike. Money really isn't a big deal, but it would be nice to save some by getting the mini or monomini.

EDIT: I am NOT looking for an AVID or any other MECHANICAL disc brake, please, I've tried them and hated them!

  5. Agreed... it's one thing to stick with things that work but why not try out new things? The only thing monty have ever tried out is different paint jobs :P

Why not push standards and be innovative rather than being boring and waiting around for everyone else to try things? I mean, yes slate koxx but everyone laughed when they made bikes without seats  now look. Yes i am sure the frames ride quite nicely, but why not make something that will have everyone cooing about and going, oh i can't wait for it to come out! As for the price... yeah overpriced considering the build quality - i had a close look at some a year ago and really wasn't impressed (N)

Monty made the first trials frame without a seat

  6. The way people ride trials and the moves they do have moved on since the 80's when the seeds for the first X-Lite mods were sown. It's just called moving with the times. I know that means they can't utterly destroy you monetarily by saying "ooh, it's old, so pay us over £500 for a frame which is worth half that"*, but even so, it'd mean they actually had a *gasp* MODERN frame? Equally, a frame which wouldn't necessarily be weak?

I really don't get the way that people make such a huge fuss about Montys every year though. There's just nothing really different to this frame from the last ones, it's just the same crap. They might put another gash "factory look" paintjob on there, but that seems to be it, pretty much.

*In the case of the Ti. I guess you could go for the Pr, but meh.

Have you ever ridden one? Best mod bike I've ever ridden! The geo is almost the same as the short koxx's.

  7. God damn, you guys make it sound like once you hit 30 your dead! 20's, 30's is young. There are tons of mountain bikers and some moto trialers in there 60's+.

Look at Sonic Youth, all the members are in their mid 50's. They F##king rock.

  8. Yeah, Monty really tries to rip people off, especially because they have the most economically priced bikes.

In the US, you can get a complete x-lite for $1000, damn good deal if you ask me.

  9. Man, koxx is such bullsh..it... Kenny should have a perfect frame at his riding level. And I do believe the accusation that Koxx might make him tweeked frames so Vincent can win.

Is it worth him going about it this way though? At the end of the day whether you like it or not KOXX does alot for their riders giving them signature frames / pays them, and looks after them. When you look at it both ways it would be a big loss to koxx but it would also be a loss to kenny. Personaly I think nothing will come of it.

Any company can send some rough sketches and geometry info to a chinese factory and have a frame made.
