i wouldn't be so sure, i can lock up the wheels on my bog standard mk4 polo at any speed, which is more than enough braking force imo.
sure get bigger brakes if you want to be lazy with your foot, or maybe if you're guna be ragging it for mile upon mile, but otherwise standard brakes suffice in my book.
Will
locking up and slowing down are different things, they might be able to lock up at any speed, but they might not be able to slow the car down, standard brakes usually mean small discs, so there going to heat up faster and lead to brake fade, if that makes any sense

i think its the dealers that set the RRP's not dave, and as its an international site he would have to show them in several currencys so i think its more effot than its worth,

ali vdubs are piss to fix, if it brakes ring me and il help you fix it, its pretty much the same as stans car up front (if you get a 1.8t) and i have just put that engine into my golf so know my way around it, and a high milage one will probably mean its done motorway miles so will of just been chugging in 5th most of its life

ali get a passat, its the best option imo, if you had got one last year instead of your transporter you would have saved alot of money to be honest. if you get some steals for your vito and get it sold then you will have more to spend and could get a better car thats goin to need less work (ie less miles less likely to need bits replacing) ,
