i'm pretty sure either the song or the band is called debonaire/debonare (i have no ieda how to spell it. I used to have it on my PC until i mashed my hard drive.

Both Gaim and Trillian are free and ad-free. Gaim is OSS, so you absolutely do what you want with it (Y)
I tried Trillian, but I'm not sure I like it. I might give Gaim ago, however. Messenger 7 is huge on the screen, it's far too wide!

It seems better than the previous versions. They need to get rid of the adverts (but that would mean a charge hey).

Don't suppose you've seen the J-Lo one?
Slightly victimises her, but she does wear fur, and that's what they're campaigning against.
I was physically sick when I saw what happened towards the end.
