  1. After playing on my buddy's 24" Marino I thought I'd get myself one to try out and here's the result.

    dsc0563ci.jpg
    Spec is;
    Frame: Ashton Effect
    Fork: Old DMR Trailstar
    Headset: FSA Pig
    Stem: One23 90mm x 35 deg.
    Bars: Truvativ Hussefelt
    Grips: Sunline Mushroom's
Cranks: Generic 8 splines 175mm with Pashley 22t bashguard
    Pedals: Wellgo B109 Plastic's
Seat: Vocal Ventra Snake Skin Slim pivotal
    Seatpost: Gusset pivotal
Wheels: Alienation 440's in Chrome, Demoliton Bulimia font hub polished, Halo 6 pawl rear hub with 17t cog
    Tyres: DMR Moto RT 2.2
    Tensioner: Trialtech
I'm currently running it brakeless mainly due to not having a suitable set of forks, I know most people will object to the current fork setup but running it with pashley forks made the front end feel low and unresponsive, which is a shame because i love the look of pashley forks. I am for any advice with setups as this whole 24" thing is new to me.
I'm planning to spray the frame as I'm not fond of the purple, id like to get some lighter cranks, better bars and more suitable forks if I end up getting on with the bike.
  2. Evening all, I'm in the process of putting together an echo pure 2012. This will be my first frame with a high bb, so I'm like a fish out of water, and I could do with some advice on what stem geo wise to go for. I see the completes come with something lowish but people tend to run high mod stem so I'm lost! Haha

  3. Me and a good friend are heading over to Wales next week on a small holiday and, of course, the bikes will be attending. Just wondering if anyone could suggest some places to visit? We will be staying in Pembrokeshire and mainly around Tenby and Saundersfoot but I'm sure a little road trip wouldn't go down badly if there was some good places to visit. We were hoping to try our hands at some natural riding but beggers cant be choosers.

Any help would be most kind :)

  4. Cheers guys, im loving it, even if it did me a mischief the other night! haha

absolutely loving that! I am currently building up a 26ghz to, just resprayed the frame and getting parts together... how you finding those bars?

Im loving the bars, they look and feel identical to my mates inspired bars in all fairness. I used to have a MHZ as my one of my first bikes, id love anoother so i can have the pair :)

  5. I made the great decision to get back onto a trials bike, i originally threw together some parts onto my old Monty Urban frame but after 1 ride I fell back in love with trials and decided to look for a new frame. I had the intention of getting something similar to my old 1100 wb Koxx Levelboss but then found a frame that I'd wanted when I rode as a teenager, and here she is

It rides so much better than I could ever have imagined, especially being so short compared to what I was ridding last time round. Its possibly not the most ideal bike for how I ride considering I have no street skills at all but I feel really comfortable riding it and pushing myself on it.

    I tried to keep the build as old skool as I could, the current spec is;

    Frame: Pashley 26GHZ

    Forks: Pashley

    Headset: Hope

Stem: Unknown 120mm x 17 ( got a trialtec stem on the way same geo)

Bars: Tensile 9's with Sunline lock on thin grips

Rear brake: Magura HS33 05 with Koolstop pads and tensile offset mounts

Front brake: Avid V-Brake with Koolstop Supra 2 Clear pads

Cranks: Middleburn RS7 175mm with 16t Pro trials bash

    Pedals: Azonic

    Rear Tensioner: Shimano XTR SSC

Front Wheel: Hope Ti Glide hub radially laced onto a DMR DV Rim 32h

Rear Wheel: Hope Pro 2 Trials on Planet X BMF Rim 32h

Tyres: Michelin DH16 and Country front.

    Heres a few other images

  6. They are good rims, however you do need to build them strong, use good spokes etc. One of my friends had a rear one but the spokes weren't so good and it ended up looking like a mis-shapen egg/heart thingy.

So very good rim providing you have good spokes/build.

Thats my wheel! This is what happens when you dont have good spokes

As for dents in 1 month I got 6 in mine and I only had about 5 rides on it and only did small stuff due to an injury to my leg.

I also had the problem of not being able to set my rear brake up very well.

Despite this they are good rims and they look great.

  7. Hi here is a video of me, TheMunn and our mate loz riding in one of the local spots. This isn't a video to show our riding ability, but to test my camcorder and my editing abilities.

Any advice on any aspect would be greatly taken into mind for next time.

    Video

    Cheers

  8. Next week I am going away to Thetford forest and I need to decide whether to take my trials bike or my full suspension.

So I was wondering if anyone knows of anything to ride trials on in Thetford forest so I know whether to take my trials bike. Someone told me they think a comp is ridden there so can anyone enlighten me on any of this?

    Cheers
