  1. To say the response to this video from trials/cycling community and even the general public has been unexpected would be somewhat of an understatement! haha

I have been on the phone to Danny a few times, and I thought it was worth putting up a few words about how he's feeling about it all.

When I asked him if he had anything to say in response to the reaction of the video, his main comments were that it has made him unbelievably happy and generally in shock about it all. He genuinely didn't expect people to like the video this much, but seeing people's overwhelming positivity about not only his riding but the video as a whole has made all the hard work and effort from both him and Dave (Sowerby) feel worthwhile. While he has a feeling of satisfaction that the video he has been thinking about night and day (it literally kept him awake sometimes thinking about all the lines he wanted to get done) for months has now been finished, he now has renewed and increased motivation for riding and is determined that his next video will top this latest one!

People who have met Danny will no doubt agree that he is down to earth and extremely modest about his riding, and while he is often a man of few words, I can't say enough about how grateful he is for all your comments so far.

  2. Says i need the latest flash player to watch it, just installed it and its saying the same thing?

Is Dave Sowerby the bmxer that runs BSD?

You need to click the download link for now, it may open in your browser with the right plugin, if not it'll download. Youtube will be done soon so you can watch it directly on the Inspired site :)

    Yep, that Dave Sowerby :).

  3. A few of you may have heard that Danny MacAskill has been working on a new video over the past few months.

It has been on his mind virtually every hour of every day, and the time and effort that has gone in to the riding and filming has been second to none for a trials video.

With excellent filming and editing from Dave Sowerby (Danny's housemate), this video has without a doubt pushed the envelope of what is perceived as possible on a trials bike.

    Enjoy!

You can find a direct download for the quicktime movie at www.inspiredbicycles.com, the youtube version is uploading and there will be a Vimeo version available soon too. The quicktime video plays perfectly on recent editions of VLC player.

  4. Here's a short video made up of a few clips I managed to get the other night from a Burnley ride. There were a few awesome lines I didn't managed to get on camera (As ever, Ali just pulls out an awesome line while just riding along, I need a camera with infinite battery and footage capacity! haha).

Some great streety lines and all made to look far too easy! Ali's only had the bike finished for a couple of weeks, can't imagine what he'll be like by the end of summer!!

WMV version HERE! (should play fine on Windows Media 9).

    And YouTubed

    Enjoy! :)

  5. Thanks a lot for all the feedback and comments guys, really appreciate it! :) It's made my decision easier for definite!

Price wise, as Mark said, it should be around the same price area as the BMX offerings from MacNeil etc. As for the seatpost, same thing applies really :).

I'll post up information (either here, www.inspiredbicycles.com or www.myspace.com/inspiredbicycles) regarding release date etc as soon as I can.

Once again, thanks a lot for all your comments!

    Dave

  6. Hey guys, as some of you may have seen, there's a handful of prototype Inspired seats floating around on various sponsored rider's bikes. Styling wise I'm super happy with them, but material choise wise I want people's feedback. Maybe I like the material as is now, maybe I don't, I'm not saying! hehe.

    So, would people prefer:

Full kevlar covering (the super durable fabric-y material).

Full embossed pattern on immitation leather (as prototypes).

    seat-logo.jpg

Embossed pattern immitation leather with Kevlar back/corner strip.

    half-half-seat.jpg

Options with the Kevlar will give better wear resistance, but does it compromise looks too much? The embossed material definitely isn't flimsy, but from a pure durability point of view, the Kevlar would take it.

All thoughts regarding the material are more than welcome!

Thanks for all your help guys!!

  7. Loved it!

Music went well, liked the editing, some amazing riding from everyone, great weather, the lot.

Best of all, even though DJ isn't around anymore, he's still making a ton of riders get a massive amount of fun from the sport and meet a load of new friends in the process. DJ, respect, you truly are a legend!

  8. The post is basically a fully slammable pivotal post (not the standard more bulky version) in which the post itself (the bit that goes in the frame) makes up a sleeve to make the post 27.2. So rather than being one forging, the pivotal part is pressed into the sleeve. Also has a nice Inspired logo on it but that's obviously hidden! Hope that makes some sort of sense.

As nasty Dave has hidden his logo, for those of you wondering....

Also shows the extent you can 'slam' the post in to the frame, nice and compact! :D

  9. Just a quick one, got pics of the new tees up online and also a sweet little video of Felix Muecke in the media section.

The poll results for the tee colours was too close, so I decided to split my order pretty much exactly to the ratio the poll came to :).

    Cheers guys,

    Dave

  10. I can't wait until they get that new Alfa on the show next series!

Might be the nicest looking car I've ever seen, which is saying something as I normally don't say a good word about cars like that unless it's got a prancing horse on the bonnet!

I was having the debate recently with a few people about which we'd choose, the RS4 or the M3, I'm still undecided!!!!

I'll win the lottery and get both! That's the 'practical' cars sorted, just gotta choose the sporty ones now...Ascari, F430 Scuderia and FXX Evo?

Oh, and a Caparo, and a Nissan GT-R.

  11. Thanks for all the comments guys, both good and bad!

Dave 'my saviour' Cox, has made a few tweeks here and there and made the site as user friendly and browser compatible as possible :).

All good practise for future sites in the pipeline, cheers again guys!

    Dave

  12. Joe, I saw the tractor today that you nicked that rear tyre from! :P

Other than that, looks wicked and seems like you're getting on with it well too from the photos I saw :D.

Bessell, I need a bike stand myself, you free for a year or two? What's your hourly rate? hehe

Seat, hmmm, something racing and roadie or a little sleek bmx one?

  13. Looking good Conor!

Spec is a beast, just the brake clamps and maybe crank colour and it's pretty much as good as it's going to get!

All these builds are making my decisions for my spec reeeeeally hard!

I think short of a little more trialsy rear tyre it's pretty much the spec here that I'll be going for.

But no doubt I'll change my mind 10 times before I start building!

    Dave

  14. Love it! :D

Great spec. and the white bars look wicked on it. When I come to get mine built up soon I'm going to be so stuck between black or white bars!!

Though it'll probably get decided more on shape than colour, but streety Simtra McPudgy bars in white, or trialsy Monty risers in black?

    Hmm.

Anyway, hope you love the frame and the bike rides as nice as it looks! :)

  15. Hi everyone,

I know a couple of people have mentioned if I was ever free for a ride to give them a shout, but figured it'd be best to collectively organise and discuss here.

So, work's flexible this coming week and I'm itching to ride...

Anyone fancy meeting up on one or more of 26th-30th of December for a Nottingham ride?

    Ta,

    Dave

  16. I preferred the white frames, until I saw the pics of this frame with the gold parts! Now it's made me confused as to which I like best, white or black!

That bike should look amazing!! Get some gold hubs and then eeeeeverything else black, mmmm, tasty :D:D:D.

Can't wait to see the full bike completed, hope you like it :).

  17. niether can Danny, from what ive heard he has goosed his already!!

Danny says the bikes doing great :)

I'm guessing you're referring to the crack he thought he had that turned out not to be a crack! hehe
