It's been a while, I used to buy all sorts of ghetto gear off this site and shoot the shit about riding the bikes with the dodgy looking saddles and that. Just getting back into trials again aafter dusting off the old megamo steed and thought i'd come on here find out the latest crack.
Seems trials forum is a lot quieter than it was say 5 years ago, I've done a search but can't seem to find owt. What has happened? Is trials in general less popular? have people gone to another place? I can't work it out maybe it's just a slow decline.
Much love to all by the way, keep doing your thing and I am really enjoying riding my bike again even though i am pretty rusty!

I would say buy the cheapest one, it will start you in the trials game. Put £300 aside and pay £80 of that budget on a bike. when you decide yeah I like trials you then have an account with £213 in it probably because you spent the other £7 on sweets and you can put this towards a new bike. Or you could think this trials lark was just a passing muse and shot the bike down the local car boot for £20 to some gadgey looking kid with a mullet who says to his companions "'ere mett lukk at this bangin' bmx a got fer a score. it got tractor tyres n all but top speeds a bit shan like cos ring on't pedals is only lyk small init. dem brakes are keen as fook n all"

make grips grippier after being worn down?
i have some gusset grips which i havent had for long and theyve smoothed off all their grip profile, is there any tricks any of you know to get a bit of life back in them?
i thought about cutting my own grooves in them but i'll wait to see what you guys think.

most super race xc'ers use v brakes but on the whole its hydro discs
i had maguras on a few xc bikes but only those without disc mounts

when i asked in a local bike shop with my mod if they did any spares for internal headsets they said they didnt do any parts for BMX's and wouldn't listen to me telling them it wasn't a BMX and showed me the door.
not really a question but quite annoying none the less.
it wasn't even a roadie shop or old mans lame bike store, otherwise i could have understood.

one positive about stolen trials bikes if there is one at all, is that they cant be used for the daily runaround which most peple want a bike for. Then if they know it's worth alot theres a better chance of it turning up for sale somewhere on the internet or locally.
Feel free to disagree but that's what has happened in the past to me when my bike turned up on ebay and a few others i can recall.
i know the pain, and it's probably f'ked up your plans and stuff but don't worry and keep searching.
