  1. The slave pistons are far more likely to be the cause of problem. Do you run a grind? Over the years I have had many sticky pistons on the slave cylinders sometimes some spray lube like gt85 can fix it for a month or so. But the best fix of all is replacing the slave cylinders completely. Running a grind reduces the lifetime of the o ring seal on the slave cylinders. Some people have success by taking them apart and cleaning them out.

  2. im running a 20t at the moment, but could still be used for a 22t but would be close on the chain

i left quite abit of diameter on it for further knurling, hopefully a straight knurler will be in at college soon as they last longer.

  3. yeah the laths at college are well old proberly 20 years oldish.

Its pretty damn hard to turn a mirror finish with college equipment as the cutting aint expensive and new

Ive got a almost brand new middlebrun bashguard for sale that i used on my bike while i was doing my old one if anyone wants it??? silver and landed on it once!!! its well mint condition

  4. cheers for the replies fella's

my idea was to increase pimpness without making it weaker to land on (im right footed) so having larger holes where i dont land and small (less likly to crack) where i land.

cos i use a single speed tensoiner sometimes the chain tension is ruined by bashguarding as the chain gets hit on the wall, so i went down a chain ring size and only took as much as needed off the bashguard to stop this happing cos it was well annoying.

i done this at college with an old lathe and millling machine with a turning table on it.

sadly they didnt have a straight knurl at college as i prefer straight to 45 degrees.

afterwards i polished it longtime, with 1500grit wet and dry paper for like half an hour then polished it with a mini polishin tool and autosol polishing paste stuff for metals.

hopefully this answers everyones questions (Y)

The weight reduction was only 60 grams :( but better than 226 grams

Now im half way through writing my report for it and tght that it would be good if i good feedback from trials riders of there opinions of my design of it etc.

So please leave messages of what u guys think of it (keep it real)

  6. thats a nice bit noise on that vid

but not a very good way to show how well it holds

i test pads by holding the wheel

    brake on

lift the front wheel off the ground standing next to the bike

and push down on the bars as hard as i can

this i think simulates if a brake would slip when riding really well

my crms are really good so far

put them on rode for 30mins in abit of rain

and they are the best ive rode with so far

  7. i got tarty bikes dude to grind my rim when i brought it

i said i was running bloxx browns to he gave it a harsh grind

it doesnt seem sharp to the touch though

i might try and sharpen it abit soon

a friend has the same pads it works well with his setup

got a friends crms on the side they feel quite good to probe but abit soft i have to see how well they work on his bike

i dont ride in the rain so im not that bothered about wet profermance just bit wear life really, to many stacks in the wet to ride

  8. ive got away from tar cos it pissed me off

so ive gonna for a grind but im finding really good pads hard to find

ive had some old koxx bloxx browns hardly wore any but didnt lock well enough

im running some heatsink test batch pads, light grey colour ones, they work ok but have wore quite alot in a month not bad pads at ll, they dont always lock perfect all of the time though.

not sure what pads to buy next

    any ideas???????? and comments reviews

  9. i asked this question a while ago to the peeps at tartybikes they say

    Hi Stuart,

Pretty much! The Reggie is a scaled down Ronnie basically - lighter,

thinner, not as tall. Reggie recommended for front, Ronnie for rear.

    Cheers,

    Adam

the reggie comes in 36h as well!

  10. i am also about to get on clive leesons build list after talking to him i am going to get a clear 660 as the measurements are almost the same as the ashton mk3 that i wanted before hand.

the leeson frames are quite different to all other frames a pushed in bb inside the frame for starters needing a real long axle bb compared to my 108mm one now.

the 360 mounts are easy to take the rear wheel out of, as the mech is not in the way any more as the wheel pulls out horzonital.......

plus clive repairs any frames that break due to trials riding quote "not being throw at a walk for a hour" so they are all good
