  1. i remember when i had appendicitis about 7 years back. went riding the day before and the next morning my stomach was killing me. thought it was pulled muscles so thought nothing of it. few days later pain was still there but getting worse, so went to the doctors who told me i had a stomach ache and gave me lacitives which i did not take. when i needed the toilet real bad for a crap i could not go, and the pain was so bad. went back to the emergency doctor at the hospital who also said i have a stomach ache and that was it. so off home i go and the next day i felt the worst pain ever in my stomach to the point i could not actually move it was that bad.... ambulance came and turns out my appendix just burst! so yea, i spent xmas in hospital and had loads of over complications cos it burst.

  2. the way i see it. you buy a hope hub for £77:50 and away you go. ride whatever you like with it, however you like. you can service it yourself for next to nothing, and get spares cheap as chips / free

you spend potentially over 3 times more (unless you do some tax evasion) and then have to faff about bedding in, taking apart (with special tools) changing driveshells and axles (oh wait, more money spending) and lubing up your hub JUST so you can ride it the way you want. and you still run the risk of dying a slow death if it skips (and skips badly)

maybe i'm just cheap and lazy, but i can't say a few more engagements is worth all that. do they even make a difference to your riding? :P

edit: ok hopes are £77:50. bargain

i see what your saying but i dont agree with all of it, i used to run a hope, it skipped all the time, sent it to hope they fixed it and i rode it and it still skipped all the time. so i decided to buy a king, the king skipped a few times but changed the lube to finish line and after that it never skipped. but thats my experience with hope hubs im not slagging them off im just saying what happened from my experience with them

  3. I don't really belive in this karma (sp?) but i do belive that if you do a faviour for some one, or just generaly be nice to people, then they will do the same to you, so its sort of the same. :$

nah tried that as well, still dont work, looks like im screweed

  4. if you want to do plumbing go with a company called haden young, very good company and have a very good reputation. its who i am doing a heating and ventilation apprentischip with. but personally id do the H&V not plumbing you learn a lot more and you also do arc an gas welding. pay is pretty good as well, i get about £400 a week and i also get all my travel paid, london waiting and a bonus every week. it can be easy and it can be hard. complaeting the college work is too easy we done ours in the last couple of weeks. you will get all the shit jobs to start with, if you do as your told and dont give them shit you will get on fine (i learnt the hard way) and over time they will let you do your own work on your own. i have just qualified and im already installing a complete ahu plant room on my own :S

EDIT: i have just noticed your from warrington, and i know haden young have an office in warrington to give them a call.

  5. funny what you said about the doctor probably not knowing what trials is. my doctor knows exactly what it is and he kept telling me i shouldnt do it, its bad for my body, if you do everything the doctor says you would have no fun. anyway about the wrist. when i rode i had to wear a wrist support as i broke my wrist and it couldnt take much pressure on it (this is after it had healed by the way) anyway i think its about 2 years or so since i broke it and even now i still get pains in it and can be really uncomfortable, but i did find that the wrist support did help with the pain whilst riding.

  6. if you do decide to change the hub shell you will need to strip the hub internals completely (obviously) and put them in the new shell, so if you do let me know as im sure i still have all the tools here to do it (Y) it was you i sold the echo to wasnt it?

  7. i know what you mean, i found i havent got time to rdie anymore and during the summer i couldnt be bothered to ride so sold the bike, i still want to go out evrey now and then but have no bike so i cant,
