  1. Looks like a crack, especially on your high reso shots, maybe check it before you sell?

Sorry mate, not a crack, jus went an checked it over an its jus the reflection, cheers for taking the time to scan it that closely...

  2. I bought this bike off ebay for £90 after doing a bit of research on the parts it seems that i got a pretty good deal. Im off to uni in a few weeks and was thinking of selling for something that could tackle the hills of Dorset a little better...

    ...Here's a parts list...

    Spec:

    Eastern big street BMX (frame/bars/forks)

    Demolition 3pc cranks

    Snafu pedals

    Eastern light bars

Eastern 44t Chainwheel and bash guard (now using Profile 44t racing wheel)

    Wheels - Not a clue???

    Tektro rear brake and calliper

    Eastern Grips

    Eastern Sadle

Its still a bit grubby from cycling through flood water...

Well, whats all the pics i have, so please, if you have a good eye for BMX parts, don't hessitate in valuing this bike..

    Cheers, Chris.

  3. 95 quid not bad. Defo a good buy for that amount.

Scores 10 for price. But proberly not worth upgrading too much.

Why you say not worth upgrading much? The frame does seem a it much, so once ive got the money i might buy another to test the difference in weight.

  4. No-one's gonna know anything about your ratio until you post what size freewheel you're running on the back ;)

Assuming; however, that you're running 44-16 (which you probably are) then you're probably in exactly the right gearing (By general consent 2.75 is the ideal BMX ratio). Sure, it's hard compared to a trials gears, but your legs'll get stronger, if you lower the ratio much (or at all) you'll probably find it holds you back in parks and stuff 'cause you'll start spinning out (Y)

Cheers for that, as you can tell im only new to this... so cut me some slack... Yeah is it the 44-16 so its about right is what ur saying, cheers for your reply.

  5. I've recently bought a bmx and I've found that the bike can be difficult to pull up at the front and hard to push off from a standing start. Im running a 44t chainwheel, is this too large for street? Once ive got some momentum its all good, i can keep the speed coming which i thought would be good for dirt jump...

Any comments on which size is best for what sort of riding would be great.

    Comment comment comment.

  6. Looks alright maybe a bit of the weighty side. How much you get it for is the question..? Then it'll be easier to give you a score.

I cant really tell what wheels they are. Maybe a Alex Supra E on the back on a unsealed hub as it's 18t freewheel?

Nah, for the frame size its suprisingly light, i got it for £95. Sorry, don't know about the freewheel, i'll take a look when i get home.

  9. I work at B&Q they give good pay, but you got to be over 16 to work there, i was lucky i got there just before they decided they would stop 16yr olds gettin jobs there. The money is excellent, it's £5.15 an hour normal days and bout £7.80 on sundays. Im on bout £5000 a year. "You can do it when you B&Q it!"

  10. I think im more intersted in riding mod, no offence to stock, its just i like the smaller style bikes. Probably because i've done a bit of BMX. Thanks anyway though. Buying two bikes would probably be a better idea, like manxrider says. Hey, know anywhere thats got a cheap BMX for sale? I'd be looking for sumthin around £45. Cheers.

  11. Hi, last time i posted was in new members chat, 'Getting Started'. Well now, i've hit a bit of a predicament. To pick the ideal bike i supose is a pretty tall order for someone with limited knowledge of bikes, let alone trials bikes. Im torn between practical, or a non-practical bike. If i were to get a trials bike and then decide that i dont really have the determination to keep riding, apart from re-selling it, whats it good for? On the otherhand, i have this bike, which i've seen for sale on ebay. Its been described as fit for trials and jump. Plus it has the practical use as a road bike if necisary. Is anyone else in the same boat? If you could post some pro's and con's about riding trials, that would be great. Cheers.

    Chris B)

  12. Yeah, cheers, i think i'll got for mod, just because of it being easier, plus the bike im looking at seems quite cheap second hand, the mod 't bird pro'. I guess i can always upgrade later, i've got a well paid job at B&Q so its all good. So how long have you been riding? What do you ride? If it does'nt show who im talking to or something im directing this at frederico.

  13. Hi, i've seen quite alot of people on trials bikes in the past and have now thought that insted of watching the guys having all the fun on their bikes im going to buy one of my own. I dont know about the rest of you but this seems a pretty daunting task for me, i know barely anything about trials bikes themselves, but ive got the basic mechanics on bikes down pretty well. If you've been through the same problem which im guessing lots of you pretty much have, have you got any tips for me, like on how to get some basic knowledge on it all? Are there any magazines on trials? I havnt been able to find any so far, so if someone could give me a few names that would be of great help, and im sure it would help alot of other people on this site, who are also wanting information on trials in general. Parts and their uses for example. Ok, so i hope to hear from some of you soon.

    Thanks

    Chris B)
