  1. Hi all,

Ive just been looking at the 05 Base TA26 frame, i had the pleasure of trying one out last night. There awsome! i did kinda have my eye on the new Onza T rex frame for my rebuild but after riding the Base i think im gunna think on it a bit more so im asking for your help.

Whats the advantages of an 11" Ta26 over the T rex?

I use to ride a DDG Shooter, some reconmended a Ta26 to me cos theyre pretty similar.

Whats the wheel base on a Ta26? its something like 1040 isnt it?

I've always mixed a bit or a street feel into my trials riding so would the Ta26 be a better option?

How does t handle on the back wheel?

thats about it really, but i seriously like it.

    cheers

  2. unfortunately i didn't get the rims as the seller sold them to someone else at the last min, but i did get a pair of hope xc hubs, front and rear for £60, just need to get some rims now, any suggestions?

I was thinking about the onza hog rim on the bag and the drilled version for the front, or would a Dx32 be better? i could always drill one my self.

    cheers guys

  3. I have just got a good deal on a pair of Alex rims Dx32's i was wondering if its a good idea to put one on the front?

Or would it be to much better to go for a lighter rim such as a Onza Hog with sidewall drilled rim? and get rid of the dx32?

and has anyone heard of Base BIkes Hubs? are they any good?

    Cheers guys

  4. Cheers for the advise guys, i'm seriously thinking about going single speed, i'll go try one out this weekend when i test out the onza t-rex.

But i am still more persuaded to get a 6 cog cassette, i noticed that the pre-built onza t-rex comes with grip shift, i would of thought to put on rapid fire shifters as thats what i used to use, is there any advantages for using grip shift?

Surely you would accidently change gear when you attempt any kind of hop?

One more question regarding single speed, whats this i hear about the free wheel cutting into the hub? and would it be easy to fit it myself?

    Cheers for your help

  5. cheers guys, i used to run a fairly heavy but strong ddg shooter with halo combats, i prefer longer wheel base frames, what frame(s) would you reconmend? i'm looking forward to going for a much lighter setup. I briefly looked and the saracen M.A.D frame which i liked the size and tested it out. felt good. the Adamant A2 frame i haven't ridden but from what iv heard and seen it seems like a frame i could get on with. looking forward to spending all my time riding again, its something i love with a passion. maybe i should just buy a pre-built bike? like a t pro or something then upgrade when i get better, just an idea.

i've never ridden a single speed trials bike before, what are the advantages and dissadvantages?

  6. Hi all, :)

I haven't ridden trials in 3 years roughly, i'm gunna buy the parts i need to build my bike again in a couple of weeks, so far i had in mind:

    Adamant A2 frame

Front onza hog rime - side wall drilled

    front hope xc disk hub

    rear onza hog

    rear hope xc hub

    Avid bb7 front disk brake

a magura hs33 on the rear

    try-all sticky tyres

and maybe a sun race short cage rear mech

i've got all the other components i need. all this comes to about 580-600 quid. what do you guys think?

    cheers

    B)

    Steve
