PaRtZ Posted September 9, 2009 Report Share Posted September 9, 2009 6 years ago, when tar was cool, I used to draw loads of vertical lines (perpendicular to the rim edge) then drag the brake a bit to smush the tar over the rim surface and voila, nice even application.But now I have a grinder, so im cool again seriously though, tar can be dangerous so you should never apply too much, else youll find yourself going over the edge of a drop and your brake not letting go. josh barker Posted September 10, 2009 Report Share Posted September 10, 2009 i use to use tar until i was on a corner of a wall doin a gap and i launched my self and the pad stuk to the rim and nearly broke my faceGrinds are certainly COOL.My smooth rim has always stuck with tar but plenty of my ground rims have not slipped.
