What Is A Good V Brake

Before you worry about a *great* set of vee calipers/lever, make sure your set up will be spot on..

Decent mounts, a booster and not to mention great pads will have much more of an effect of say avid ultimate arms over Shimano Deores.

Yup , careful setup can make the difference between the same hardware resulting in an OK brake and a superb one . In my experience , the calipers themselves needn't be terribly exotic - I get easily controllable locking power using cheapo Deore arms . Good cleanly cut outer cable feels noticable better and a booster for the rear is pretty much essential .
