  1. Ok that's a fair point I know they're better than that. Just gonna have to wait until they are available. Maybe I'll post some photos up when it's all built hopefully in a couple of weeks. Thanks
  2. I'm no expert but I think you will be fine with the Skye. Unless you're doing front flips off 10ft medieval walls it may a bit overkill! The frame set is a good deal as the Hope hubs and headset are included, or if you got the cash for a full bike then go for it. Typical manufacturer tactics in that you can't buy the 20mm axle forks separately. I thought by now they would be available. This is the one issue I have with Inspired. Anyone know if/when they will ever be sold separately?
  3. Another quick question. I like to de-brand most things if possible. Is that Element logo just a sticker?
  4. Cheers Ali I'm considering it. Never really wanted pure trials bike, I have a mod that I tried a load of stem/bar combos and a few forks but never liked it. to be honest will be happy with any inspired frame! Think I'm going for the Element, my build may also be a bit lighter than the Arcade and if that's down to a compromise in strength it shouldn't be a problem for me for a few years. Could do with the extra £200 this time of year. Ordering in a week or so, time to get extra parts sorted and clean up transferrable bits. Thanks for the replies, thought I'd get lynched for starting another inspired thread...
  5. Thanks for the info. Considered the Zoot they seem great frames but wanted an Inspired frame for a while so set on one of em. Is it worth the extra £200? Surely its possible to get it similar using stem and stacker combos?
  6. Sorry to start another Inspired 24 thread.. I asked a while ago about the Arcade and now I'm ready to order I am thinking again whether at my level I really want to spend that much. Am I a tall rider at 6ft? It seems like it'd be a bit cramped and too much of a step in the bmx side rather than trialsy street style which is what I do (/attempt). I don't think I'm that bad so a change to a proper frame will help me advance a lot, but I feel the Arcade won't really help with learning more trials..? I'm now looking at the 2014 Element 24 frame and forks. Am I right that it is exactly the same frame as the Fourplay 2012? Have they just tweaked the frame geo slightly and added 4-bolt mounts? It's this that has swayed me, disc or mags option and to me it seems it will be a bit longer than the Arcade. I know reach compensates for it but seems too small frame for me. Also its aluminium, I want a change I have been riding steel for years Almost all parts from my DJ/Street bike will transfer over to the frame set. I'll need a load of stackers and a pretty long stem to get it as similar to my current set up as possible. I could get it all set up for a mere £500...anyone got any reasons not to buy the Element? Thanks
  7. Thanks JMCD yeh it'd be cool to meet up, show me some good spots and give me a few riding tips! Had some things come up this weekend so can't go today but I'll drop a message on here and we can arrange another time. I'm happy to give lifts too if anyone going from central london? Reckon I could fit 3-5 trials bikes in my car easily. I read about High Rocks in Tunbridge, sounds good except that it's 'fenced in and requires an entrance fee'.. is this what makes it difficult to find somewhere to ride? I need practice! I could take my mtb out and do a few moves but I get on my mod (Onza pro 2010) and feel shit, I can't even lift the front for a manual. Getting on the back and hopping about a bit is easy, I need to get used to the kick needed to get up obstacles rather than the speed/momentum used in street/BMX.
  8. Thanks for replies, depending on weather I might go explore tomorrow. I didn't realise barrow farm was a dedicated trials park, but how is it for a complete novice? Been riding street for years but my trials bike feels so weird I need somewhere to get used to it and practice technique.. Also tunbridge looks good I'll searfch for some nice sections round there. Thanks
  9. I'm living in central london and struggling to find places with no people where i can practice. I am starting out so at the moment look like an idiot on a kids bike, just need some quiet natural trials I can go to on the wkend. Does anyone know somewhere within an hour or 2 drive from central london? I hate it here but jobs a job, I'll be happy if I can find a decent spot not too far out.
  10. Ha damn I was looking all day and didn't see em. Thanks
  11. Ok thanks for the quick replies. New lever will do for now. Do you know where I can get the correct calipers? None at CRC or tarty so I assume they are discontinued.
  12. My brakes looking old and shit now and lever a bit bent, so thinking of buying these.. are they compatible? http://www.chainreactioncycles.com/magura-firm-tech-slave-cylinder/rp-prod25024 http://www.tartybikes.co.uk/rim_brake/magura_hs33_complete_lever_2005/c557p329.html
  13. Mate that was amazing, if I reach anywhere near that level I will be very happy
  14. Thanks for the help I got it fixed now, just needed an extra spacer. I read on this forum somewhere that it is a known problem with Onza's stem spacers that compress a bit over time, enough to push on the top cap and prevent the headset compressing properly.. FYI Started polishing the stem and forks, wish I didn't but have to finish now! I'll post pics when finished if anyone's interested.
