  7. yes you could fella anything over £12 as a charge is illegal in common law i didn't know if it would work when i had a go but it did and you can only claim for the last 6 years if you missed that bit it worked for me and i hope it can for others on here
  8. right heres my little story i found on another forum (www.passionford.com) i use that it is illegal for your bank to charge you anything over £12 per charge weather it is your fault or not and that you can claim these back for anything up to 6 years worth on passionford there are 2 sample letters put up by someone who had a financial advisor do them for him if you do not have your statements to total up the charges made against you you print the first one out after putting your details into it first letter = your address) [their address] (date) Data Protection Act disclosure request Dear Sir/Madam ACCOUNT NUMBER: xxxxxxxxx Please supply me with a complete list of transactions and charges relating to my bank account since (WHEN EVER YOU WANT AS LONG AS LESS THAN 6 YEARS). Alternatively a complete set of bank statements for that period will be acceptable. Additionally where there has been any event in my account history over this period which has required manual intervention by any member of your staff or any other person, I require disclosure of any indication or notes which have either caused or resulted in that manual intervention or other evidence of that manual intervention in relation to my banking business with you. If you are unable to supply data relating to manual intervention because there has been no such manual intervention then please be kind as to confirm this in your response to this request. I enclose the statutory maximum fee of £10. You have 40 days in which to comply. Furthermore, if I discover that you have levied disproportionate penalties against me then I shall be reclaiming them. Yours faithfully, (Name) once you have totaled your charges up and or have sent this letter and waited for it to come back and done it this way you work out how much your charges are and then separately work out the interest from these and then send this letter = [your address] [their address] Request for repayment of charges Dear Sir/Madam, ACCOUNT NUMBER: xxxxxxxxx My request I am writing to ask you to refund to me the charges which you have levied from my account over the last XXXX years I now understand that the regime of fees which you have been applying to my account in relation to direct debit refusals, exceeding overdraft limits and so forth are unlawful at Common Law, Statute and recent Consumer regulations. Your responsibilities I would draw your attention to the terms of the contract which you agreed to at the time that I opened my account. It is an implied term of that contract that you would conduct yourselves lawfully and in a manner which complies with UK law. I am frankly shocked that you have operated my account in this way as I had always reposed confidence in your integrity and expertise as my fiduciary. What I require I calculate that you have taken £XXXXX plus £XXX which you have charged me in overdraft interest for the sum which you have taken. Total £XXXXX Additionally you have entered a default notice against my credit record. This default occurred merely in respect of unlawful charges levied by you or was the result of impecuniosity caused directly by he taking by you of penalty charges which you had applied unlawfully to my account. In addition to full payment of the sum mentioned above I require that you remove the default entry from the register. Please note that mere correction or amendment to the entry will not be acceptable. My targets to resolve this matter I hope that you will enter into a sincere dialogue with me about this matter and I am writing this letter to you on the assumption that you will prefer to do this than merely respond with standard letters and leaflets. I will give you 14 days to reply to me accepting unconditionally my request in principle and letting me know a date by which I will receive payment. If you do not respond or you do not respond positively within this time period, I shall send you a letter before action giving you a further 14 days in which to reflect. I believe that these targets are more than sufficient for a large company such as yours with dedicated staff and departments. After that will be no further communication from me and I shall issue a claim at the expiry of the second deadline. Yours faithfully, [name] fill in the blanks and ****** bits i have done these 2 letters and followed doing this to the dot and i totted up my charges with interest to be £1033 and my bank hsbc wrote me a letter back to say they are willing to give me £900 so thats how i got my bike fund so quickly lol i'm just awaiting them to credit my account with the money now wahoo sorry for the long post lol and i forgot to say if any body wants any help with this just either add me to msn,pm me or email me and i'll be glad to help you out lots of my friend on passionford.com have managed to sort this and its turned into an 8 page thread with lots of doubters at the beginning and now lots of converted folk i didn't know it would work when i attempted it but thought i would have a go and thought to my self what if the bank get arsey so i set up a new account with a new bank and got that up and running before going for it so i now have a better bank than before and i now have my charges money on the way back lol life is good
  9. surely i wouldn't be hard for the companys to do this as its done in the after market car parts all the time and has been done for years these are mine on the fiesta rs turbo of mine and they ain't cracked or anything and get loads of abuse they use them in motorsport too such as wrc so get subjected to more heat and the likes than a trials bike so i would have thought these grooves for cleaning the pad/dispersing water/ more bite etc would be down to a strength of the rim thing thins parts around the rim were they've been pre ground could be a weak spot so the companys wouldn't want to warranty against this would they so am thinking that its a pure cost thing really not enough money in it for them
  10. that made me wince just watching it ooooooo the pain
  11. i was going to that me and everyone i used to ride with has done that at some point and it never stopped us from riding i did go out and buy soe dainese knee/shin armour though as it gets a bit boring slipping a pedal to smash your shin yet again lol every few weeks
  12. for removing the crank when the crank extractor threads have been damaged i tend to find putting a block of wood behind the crank arm to stop you damaging it as a screw driver is gonna go straight through a piece of cloth when you hit it really and then tape it of gently hitting it and working your way round trying to hit more then just behind the crank arm and if you have some degreaser and wd40 or similar like easy free give it a squirt of easy free/wd40 and that should help to get the crank to slide off once the cranks off if you have used lube to aid this give it a wipe over with the degreaser so as the cranks will seat again nicely onces you refit them and not work loose again
  13. cheers fella thats getting back to the sort of bike i used to ride i have my eye on an orange zero just at the minute but if i don't get that i'll be enquiring about one of them i think but keep the options coming people

  15. hi there i used to ride a few years back when i was 16 have ridden since i was 14 till 16 and then found about cars and got sucked into them and now am 22 am wanting to try and get back into ridding seen as though i'm wanting to get fit now joined the gym and thats all well and good but just aint as much fun as trials riding so my question to you lot is i want a trials bike i really like the ashton and like the old orange aero i seem to like the monocoque frames the bigger chunky bikes i'm really looking for feedback on what bikes ride wellsit on the back wheel well and the likes i used to have a dmr sidekick back when they first came out sold it and bought a sunn the sidekick rode better but i always liked the sunn an when my friend said he would think about selling it i jumped at the chance i've got a bit of money saved up about a £1k to buy a bike so if you would like to put links up to other sites or pages on this site then the more the merrier let me know what you ride where i can get one from prices specs etc and what you think as you'll find out any problems that arise after a while of ownership as am getting back in to the scene i've lost the whole know how of the industry and what is the top stuff to have i used to ride a bit with james hyland with him been a local lad and a lot more of the grpoup but never rode as much or as competitively if your local to huddersfield and the likes let me when i finally get another bike we could meet up see if am really as rusty as i expect lol add me to msn if you fancy on -- scobyuk300@hotmail.com regards Ben
