  1. I think many of the SL parts looks really good. The 09 Control frame sounds very intresting too, wounder if it dual disc?

The dengura brake levers looks nicely designed, wounder if Echo will make a disc brake too?

  2. The bolt on skewer is nearly the same as a quickrelease. I was more thinking of a real bolt, but as Ali said it seams hard to do. On the other hand my father got all the machines at work to be able to do an axel. So the quickrelease and the 20mm version is the same hub but with diffrent endcaps?

  3. why not just use two plates like 60-70mm diameter and use them against the cups all the time? There is hardly a chance of bending the cup as the force is being applied evenly around the circumference surley?

That does work but it has a tendens to move around so the pressure is uneven. On the Deng headset it will not work because the bearing i futher out than the cup is. I cant se the reason to make headsets where you cant take the bearing out of the cup, is that stronger somehow? Hope does not use that system and their headsets are just as fine as the Kings.

    Donedozeled. Topic can be closed.

Make a pair that fit thoose tricky Deng headsets to, and the Chris King ones aswell. I got a Parktool headsetpress but its hard to fit thoose two headsets with it, it will press on the bearing instead of the cup.

  5. The BT Raven 8.0 will be released in november, realy looking foorward to that. I think Simtra will release a new model soon but i may be wrong there. This can be a good thread, hope someone have some pics of new models to post here.

  6. Yeah its a deng (echo) headset I think. Would I be likley to crush the bearings if I tap it in with a mallet and peice of wood? I expect it'd be ok as long as I don't hit it too hard.

I have one of thoose to on my bike, they are not fun to install. I used my headset press to install it but it was hard to find away not to press on the bearing. If you use a mallet and a peice of wood you have to be very careful or you can hurt the bearing. The best would be to have a very short pipe that has the exact same diameter as the cup so it does not touch the bearing, then hammer on the pipe to get the headset to slide in to the frame. Well its a bit hard to explain but i think you get what i mean.

  7. I have a headset press and its worth the money, its so easy to install the headset and no worries you will ruin the headset or frame. But thoose Deng headsets are a pain in the ass, you cant take the bearing out and the bearing goes further out than the cup so the press will hit the bearing instead of the cup.
