yea was really happy with the turn around times , its a fair bit of money but leesons were £399 back in the dayyy (same materials ect) and fancied somthing different . I've gotta say they really have done a quality job!
-
How much did that skin you if you don't mind me asking?
£399 for frame
they do various prices depending on materials starting from £250 up to £399.

Built up my new frame last week and am totally stoked with how its turned out!. I couldn't wait for it to arrive but fortunately unlike many bespoke steel frame companies the turn around from sending geo and ideas to the guys at wip bikes to the frame coming to my door was 11 days!
Geo, materials (reynolds 531), angles and colour is exactly as i wanted and got a chance to ride the bike today and love the feel of it! nice and stiff and light too!.
I've put a couple of riding photos in the riding section too. Hope you guys like all comments welcome!

I agree with Simpson on this, I wish the security just come up to us and said keep quite. We had to stay up as it was georges birthday on Sunday so we sang happy birthday and went to bed we was a sleep by 12:30. Then I had a knock on van door at 9 and told to leave, so basically we drove 4 hours paid £20 x 5 and got to ride from 11am - 7pm on Saturday and told to leave 9am Sunday morning. Great birthday present for George
I must say a big thank you to all the riders that stuck up for us and said good things about us once we had left. It means alot.
And thanks to Matt Barlow for trying to sort out us seeing a demo, it's a shame it didn't work out. Hope you didn't get in to much trouble.
All in all the riding was better then last year. The venue was not as good but I still enjoyed myself for the day. I really hope the megaphone don't jeopardise another tarty days.
You guys do so much hard work sorting thse festivals out and we really appricate it. Please don't let this be the last one.
Phil
Well said.

Run 23/17 with kmc and u don't have to run a tensioner! Plus feels perfect
-
looks great! nice and clean
(could use a shorter stem for my personal liking, but meh..)
what's the ratio? is it the 2011 frame?
(i also run rear brake only)
Yea I agree with them stem to be honest, that's a 90mm I wana get a black hope 70mm.
It's was the dark green frame originally so not 2011 . I'm running 23/17 which Mark at tarty kindly recommended! It's great because I didn't want to run a tensioner.
Cheers for the comments guys.

Cool video, nice to see something different and he's an awesome rider. Surely now he has a bit of money he should get a free coaster though? Even if only to get him around

Wondered for a while... what are the advantages of Post vs IS? I'm not a disc user, but seeing the new Sky 2s and people advocating PM got me pondering...
There is not any real noticable differences in the ride performance aside from perhaps being slightly stiffer. Post mounts are often a lot easier for initial set up of the brake as they don't require facing and small fine spacers, just a simple spin of the wheel and then pull and hold of the lever whilst tightening bolts usually does the trick with hydraulic set ups. The thread directly on expensive components (frame and forks) shouldn't be an issue however I can imagin if careless this could cause costly problems.
Press fit bbs have been tried and tested for years and simply rule so as Mark says it will be great to see they on a lot more frames in the future!
Freewheels on middleburns has always been what a lot of people would like to see however isn't a real great attribute to trials now as there are many other crank manufactures to choose from.
Saw this chain a while ago, aside from weight is this perhaps a strong half link?
-
post mounts should have been out years ago for trials! got there in the end i guess.
As the topic is started can anyone think of any other things that need to come into the trials specific market?
-
I checked with Middleburn a few weeks ago about these. The issue with fitting them to a trials bike is that the arms don't have enough offset.
The internal distance between the arms at the pedal ends is 143mm wich makes them to narrow for almost all trials frames
Would be nice to see trials companies using 83mm bb shells imo
Judging by the way technology filters down to trials frames were likely to be waiting a while though
frustrating just how slow it filters!! glad to see 20mm bolt through forks and tapered steerers in near future though but we are in the dark ages with cranks
-
yea ive not seen them before! im really not keen on the style of middleburns though however they are tough! would be cool to have a little more of a choice out there
-
That got you excited! but seriously someone needs to make them soon? what are your thoughts.
-
i might come along if i find some money
Yea man do it
