  1. Wrong.

Excellent point, well made. Though you do fail to say anything about how the information in the ccd/cmos of your camera is transferred to memory faster than in my camera phone, ie, the topic of the post you are replying to. I can say that it is not descernable from instant on my phone, but you seem to be saying otherwise.

Beaten by the edit. The hamburger usb wins.

  2. Dyslexia is not an excuse not to even try to make comprehensible posts. Other people seem to manage (see dyslexia thread).

For example, I just spell checked this post. Not because i'm dyslexic, but in a topic preaching about bad spelling, it's better to be safe than sorry ;-)

  3. Smart marketing to mislead uninformed people with big numbers .The Hi Fi industry does the same at the low end - quoting huge RMS power ratings whilst neglecting to pay any attention to the circuitry and components that actually deliver the signal .

You're a bit mixed up. Cheap hifis quote PMPO (Peak Maximum Power Output) rather than RMS (Root Mean Squared) because it is always a bigger number, although it is RMS that actually matters. That is how the manufacturers of the cheap shit generate the deliberate obfuscation, not generally by simply quoting the RMS power, which is something you'd expect to be quoted.

So because it's now 8mp, it means you'll now get an even higher quality photograph of something you just missed because cameraphones are so f**king slow to respond?

Erm just like a normal camera, if you know how to use it properly (ie half pressing the button to pre-focus the scene and all the jazz it needs to do) there is no noticable delay.

Unless in photogrophy class you are tought like Shoulin monks to train your mind to be faster than modern day electronics, you cannot possibly notice the difference.

  4. MOBILE CAMERA, OR CAMERA MOBILE?

A CONTENTIOUS ISSUE THAT I CAN'T THANK YOU ENOUGH FOR BRINGING UP. HOPEFULLY WE CAN GET THIS PESKY MYTH SORTED OUT RIGHT HERE AND NOW.

CAMERA MOBILE DEFINITELY BECAUSE 8MEGAPIXELS IS MORE THAN YOU TALK AND LISTEN BY FAR. SO CAMERA MOBILE.

  5. Any text editor (sorry, someone had to say it), preferably with syntax highlighting. I use komodo edit in work.

Dreamweaver has lots and lots of useful code-writing Macros which speed things up no end when doing complex sites. It's important tha you keep track of what code the program is producing - but do this and you'll find using dreamweaver is your best bet.

To reccommend someone to use a basic text editor is just a pompous way of trying to look cool as a hard-core programmer. The reason is - Dreamweaver Split view lets you work on the code and the rendered result simultaneously. So you still work directly on the code, but it shows you what you're producing at the same time. Why on earth would anyone choose a simple text editor over this?

  6. I've done 7,000 miles on Cooking Oil it's not really that amazing.

As for the question in hand, I believe that the government plan to mix in bio fuels into current fuels something like 8% bio-fuels by 2012. So you'd get ethanol being mixed into Petroleum and Bio-diesel (cooking oil) in with normal Diesel to extend the fuel supplies.

That's right. So we will use only 92% of the oil we use now...

...while increasing the cost of food, since it's the same land producing both the food and the biofuels.

It's a completely ridiculous idea that's going to take a lot of money out of pockets in this country, and a lot of food out of mouths in the third world.
