  1. Work - I work in a car auto spares which also does just about every thing I'm interested in or have been interested in (model cars, bikes, kites etc). Small workplace with only 5 members of staff including myself, love the atmosphere and the work load, happily get up and do it everyday as I have done on and off for 4 years (due to education commitments), so it's easily as much as a hobby as it is work.

Gym/Bodybuilding - I've slowed down on this since being home from uni, but being at uni I got really routinal and managed to go at least 3 times a week.

Film making - Again this sometimes requires a bit of motivation, gone are the days when I used to be able to make a film every weekend, but I still have ideas buzzing around my head for trials videos, documentary videos, etc. It's also what I study at uni so naturally it has to be a hobby for me.

Automobiles and the road - I hold a car and bike licence, and thoroughly enjoy both vehicles so I'm a real petrol head, always looking at my next vehicle to buy even though it may be a year or so away. I'm also really keen on learning as much as the highway code as possible, observing other peoples driving whilst I'm driving or riding, it stops me from going insane.

  3. Blast from the past, probably the last regular big ride that ever happened, hardly any of those people ride anymore... :(

I'm the guy on the Echo lite with the Superman tee, still no better.... :(

Oh and the video was made, it was a very good one actually, it was uploaded to Trials Forum video, so I'm trying to find it now, if not it's on my hard drive somewhere.

  4. Okay I just like everyone on this forum occasionally receive emails from email addresses that belong to friends I know or know of, that blatantly isn't them, i.e. spam that is automatically sent advertising a product or whatever.

However I think I'm in the situation where my email address is sending these kinds of emails, as I often to get an "out of office reply" from people I've worked for an haven't emailed in months, and one previous client is emailing me to say that he is receiving spam which is annoying on his end.

Does anyone know if and how these automated emails which I have no idea that I'm actually sending can be stopped?

I'm using a .co.uk hotmail account, via Mail on Mac.

    Cheers guys.

  5. A few photos from a little session we had today. It's mainly sidehops to rear but that's what all the cool kids do nowadays...

Unfortunately no photos of the bunnyhops we mastered at the end of the day.

    Enjoy... :)

  6. I was about to say have you tried log and capture in iMovie?

It's what I used to have to do when FCP didn't like the container format from my handicam, very good as it allows for playback in the programme so you can choose your good and bad takes in iMovie.

I'd also give another vote for FCP, it is a seriously powerful bit of kit, biggest advantage is being able to edit with proxy files of your 1080p footage to enable faster rendering times and better playback.

However if you do want to go for it, just wait until the update which is planned for release in a few months, it is a HUGE revamp of the software.

  7. I had 22mm either ear now down on 14mm either ear.

Stretched lobes are a love hate relationship to me, somedays I look at them and think "Corr I would love to have my ears much bigger" other days I think "Well I just look like an idiot".

But either way I think I will have them in some form throughout my life, not because they won't heal up (As I believe they can) but being recognised in some instances is not always a bad thing. ;)

  8. Being on the brakes and holding yourself in a tense position is probably the biggest factor that makes you tired during lines.

Try to relax, balance without having to clamp your brakes on, you will find it much better and it will enable you to go for longer.

  9. I've also found that Trialtech rims are absolute rubbish for rims brakes, grind or even smooth.

I was running Plazmatic CRV's on the front on an old Echo Urban rim, with reverse mount forks and they were stupidly deadly. Built a new wheel to save weight and found that the new rim rendered my brake useless, didn't work at all even with a variety of grinds.

I bit the bullet and changed back to dual disc, not entirely happy though as my previous wheel gave me some ridiculous powerful braking.

  10. Film more than you think you need, maybe not so necessary in the trials sense as most people create the length of their trials video in the edit, but it's of course easier to do it all in one.

A variety of shots, this comes back to the previous point, if you are dedicated camera op for the day (i.e not riding) then film at every given opportunity, to catch the spills or get some close-up shots that give your video depth, you might not ever use these clips but you can always delete them later.

Don't use excessive camera motions, like riding a line in trials, plan your camera movement so you don't have to go back on yourself because you panned too far. Timing is key here, if it is a planned line get the rider to walk it through for you, so you know exactly where to be and when.

If your going to be doing a lot of handheld shots, bend your knees to absorb the motion when walking, and lock the camera against your upper body for stability. If you can try go for a steadicam as this gives a much improved quality to your footage.

  11. I got a job and worked fine at Halfords with 22mm tunnels in either ear, a lip piercing and a half sleeve on display.

Then again Bikehut got away with murder in my store; baggy shorts with our arses hanging out, over-excessive belts, skate trainers (obviously black though), plain black tops, etc.

  12. Most commonly I dream about alternative outcomes to situations that are to occur or already occurred.

Last night I had a dream that I was in a park doing weed then being chased by the police, then being caught, prosecuted and not being able to do anything because of this offence. I've had it with losing my licence (car and motorcycle in separate dreams), failing my driving test, going through red lights, being kicked out of uni.

Never the weird stuff that anyone else dreams of, just my life going bad, it's always so real in the dream that when I wake up I feel so relieved!

  13. "If your going to hit someone, hit them hard." My dad (I don't live by this one, it's just in my mind if a situation was to occur).

"I'd rather regret doing something than regret not doing something." James Hetfield

"It's easier to ask for forgiveness than it is to get permission." Grace Hopper

"If you enjoy your job, you'll never have to work a day in your life."

    "Good manners cost nothing."

"Men talk of killing time, while time quietly kills them." Dion Boucicault

  14. You should be fine man, the biggest things examiners look for is awareness, you can have very basic car control and do some pretty stupid errors, but if you are aware of what you are doing then you'll get away with minors.

On my test I pulled away in third gear, stalled and started again, just remembered to do my all around check. I then later mounted the kerb doing parallel parking and didn't reverse all the way back. I passed with 5 minors ahah!
