  1. You're getting a kit you've never heard or played?

    Nutter.

You should go and listen to as many different kits as you can before you buy one!!! That way you get to look at the different hardware, see which is nicer quality, etc etc....

Just makes more sense in my opinion?

I have heard the kit i will hopefully be getiing and i love it compared to my export. But i was asking on your opinions to value for money and quality.

    Cheers.

  2. lol. i apoligise!

I did play the drums for years. In fact i was a drummer in a band that got signed. Called monkey stole the drum. Unfortunately they got signed a month after sacking me! I didn't practice to much or learn the songs. It was good to start with, but then the others decided to want to be like radiohead, which , for a drummer, is shite! For me anyway. We did do some good radiohead covers though in the beginning. Paranoid android was the first cover i did in the band which sounded f**king brilliant if i do say so myself! It's on tape somewhere.

But anyway, i was nicely told that they wanted a drummer a bit more eager, and i was fine with that as i didn't really like it like i like my bike. I didn't know at the time what it was like to be totally obsessed with something. I sold my drums and got a bike with the money and for my birthday (it was a dear mtb lol). Then the rest is history!

    Bongo

Thats more like it! Anyway unlucky about the band but the radiohead drumming is boringly easy i admit.

  3. Thanks alot will bare it in mind. Anyone else got any opinions on which to choose?

    This thread moved fast!

Personally i would get a cheap ecoustic first to see if you like it. Then if you start playing in a band i would defiantly get an electric

  4. Used to play the violin and keyboard/ piano when i was in primary school, was shit at violin so gave that up then gave keyboard up after 2 years.

Ive been temopted a few times to learn the drums but i dont have the get up an go attitude to do it. lol

Drums is the best instrument to learn 'cause you think your shut hot when you start 'cause you dunno what is good or not. Better than learning mary had a little lamb on guitar.

  5. Money talks i'm afraid!

I replaced that crash with a 16" A custom, and everything else I'm happy with to be honest. The 17" Paiste is a bit trashy but i'm losing it for a nice 18" AAX when I can afford it.

I've got Remo Ambassadors on both heads, and an Ambassador coated on the snare. It's an older picture though, and i've replaced the bass drum head with an Evans EMAD2 which is bloody awesome!

Sounding nice then! I've had my EMAD for a while now and its a beast.. though i may be tempted for the new remo bass head for my next one.

  6. i'd hav to say a bit of both, but prefer acoustic mainly due to being a drummer just prefer the sound.

i guess you could use the word 'fresh' may sound bit odd but hey, lol! also the fact u can just pick it up and away u go no need for electricity.

I hate electric kits so much... the stupidly expensive are a bit of fun and nice to play... but the cheap one's (which is like under a grand!) are rank to play.

  7. Thanks dude, hopefully i will get validated one day. I also agree with you that a lot of the time members come and have a pop at us pre members, it also makes me angry that they hardly ever get warned. I go a warning for calling somone a dumbass,(which is probably why im still a new member) but that insult even though i accept was wrong and childish is not half as bad as some of the stuff i read that goes unpunished.

To be honest i wasn't actually saying you make crap posts or anything and your grammar is better than most new members. Its just you have 3 bars under your name now (which is more than me) and i thought it was funny lol.

  8. I'm a drummer and a pianist =]

2 pictures of the drum kit here, and my digital piano is currently apart, and my old soon-to-be-gone acoustic upright downstairs isn't worth taking photos of. I'm getting a grand piano soon though, i just need to raise some money first!

Oh and yeah I do have a new crash cymbal, i dont use that crappy broken Stagg anymore.

Looks nice just replace a few of the crappier cymbals to keep up with the lush kit.. what head combo you using?

  9. There was a guitar thread. Was gonna try teach myself a while ago. Never got round to it :/

Gonna' pay for lessons soon though.

Always good too start with lessons but after a while i found i wasn't learning anything that was stretching so stop lessons after 2 yrs. But now started them again as i get them free 'cause im doing GCSE music.

  10. I have seen recently that there are a lot more members who are non UK and i was wondering because the forum is started to attract foreign member is it able and will it ever go .com. Also if this change was made do you think it would benefit the forum? :)

The real question is.. will you ever get validated?
