  3. only been riding about 4 days but ... still trying to get balanced on the back wheel lol, but i can get up things about half the bike height and up about 4/5 stairs, still a bit iffy geting up on walls though, front wheel up is fine no problem, but its geting the back wheel up any tips?
  4. it means you spend to much time on here posting messages, than out on your bike doing the things that you should be doing ...
  5. Ohh right cool, as long as i know im doing it right then i will persist untill my hands can bear no more ... Or are bleading so much that i dont go on the bike for fear of staining it
  6. I know its an old thread now but i thought it was beter to add to this rather than start a new one. When trying to stabilize yourself on the back wheel, how do you pull the break, im finding myself griping the grips with three fingers and using my index finger on the break, but it seems to be giving me blisters ... how do you do it, when i try and use all fingers on the break i cant get enouth leaverage to keep the front wheel up
  7. I was almost certain that said "keep it tucked in your trousers, and your mum happy" Both are good advice though Well yeh i have a few little rips, but im more worried about riping my shins than the trousers ... skin grows back
  8. Nope im right handed and right eye dominate, but apparently left footed When i did snowboarding i had right foot forward, but i use the left on the trials bike .. Damb im a strange one Jeans + Socks = Good idea ... i get it now I need some bigger socks
  9. Ok just been out and tryed a few things, definatly got better But do any of you have the problem with your sprocket eating your trousers Came off a few times because of this, its not astho im wearing baggy jeans either
  10. only been riding a week so no big ones yet, urrm shin on the pedal is always a good one, ohh and i went over the back because some old guy walked past we while i was trying to get stable on the rear wheel and said "having problems keeping it up are we ... i know the feeling" ... crazy old fool altho it wasnt realy an injory, but i did lay there for a few muinets in fits of laughter, as the old guy dissapered into the darkness
  11. hope i get that good in 8 months
  12. yeh i think i will try out a few of these ideas tomorrow i had a guy walk past me earlier when i was trying things, he was about 55, you know when someone looks like there going to say something ... thats what he had and i was expecting him to say something about flat tires or squeeky breaks, but he said to me ... "Having problems keeping it up are we .... i know the feeling" HAHA ... i actully fell of my bike because of that ... went strait off the back
  13. wow danny thats a ctully a realy good idea, but i know most of my friends would be in stiches about me alling off, and probably push the wheel back just to see me fall off ... but yeh, a wall maybe and "simpson" what i meant was that when i bring the front wheel up i have my left pedal high, and kick that to bring the wheel up, in all the videos it seems to be done with the right pedal high ... am i doing that wrong or is it preference?
  14. thought the title may attract a few people little play on words ... basicly you all have dirty minds, but i do to so its all good one other thing ... people say you should initiate the move with right high, but i seem to get better results with left high, is this wrong or is it a preference thing? thanks for all the tips im sure il think of them when im laying on my arse in the mud tomorrow ... trying to dodge the bike as it falls towards me ... again Ryan
  15. the front wheel that is i can get it up, but as sson as i apply the breaks it comes back to the floor, any advice, i tryed leaning backwards more, but i just fall off the back thanks guys
  16. i was thinking about geting a mod, but to me, trials seems all about geting a "stock" bike places you shouldnt, and doing things you shouldnt be able to having a mod bike just seems to ruin all the fun
  17. my first bike, not sure what you guys think ... went out on it last night, found it alot harder to get on the back wheel than i was expecting ... also bashed my shins on the pedals because i generaly slipped off ... 1st day ... 1st injury ... WOOOOW do you guys ever leave your bikes anywhere, like outside shops or anything, even if i lock mine up i can see some chav stealing the breaks or something (its all quick release) ARRGGHH
  18. flat Dr.Peper is the ultimate drink ... try it some time
  19. well i got it tonight, going to go out tomorrow morning, down sandbanks, but im off on the weekend to bisley, i have a shooing comp and wont be back till wed evening, so anytine after that will be on, im prob going to take the bike with me, to give me something to do while im up there although the team wont like me doing it, mainly because i could break an arm or something and screw our chances up well im 18 and my bike spec is as follows Team Saracen trials bike with M.A.D. frame Magura race line hydrolic breaks Shimano Deore rear hub Hope front hub Mavic ex rims Gusset forks Panaracer fire tyres ex & fr Truvatin Isis drive crank OCR bash gard quick release wheels
