Rubbish. The cranks are crap, the geometry is crap, the build quality is crap, they are heavy, far too small. Etc, etc, etc.
My mate had one. I hated it so much I wouldn't ride it after I got my T-Pro and realised what trials bikes should ride like. Then he sold it for £275 and got a T-Mag for £300 BRAND NEW!
How?
yes thats all true but apart from that the 06 one has good ish spec maggies ect....

I'v still got a half built up T-Bird in my garage. Mine are perfectly fine although i think it needs a new bottom bracket because it creeks.
mine needed a new bb because of creeking
they are sooo anoying onza seriously need to upgrade

i was asking this same question lately i ended up going for the gu it was a good choice hasnt slipped up once

Or he could go one lower and get the T-Bird, but dont get the newest one because they only have v-brakes get the 05 or 06 one becasue they have hydraulic brakes.
i had a t-bird used it for 6 months ish then got a gu it was really good but the cranks broke on the first day (really not good)
what do others think about the t-bird? good bike?

i dont think its a mistake the lite is a very nice bike but there is also the gu and adamant to think about, its your money mate lol.

rubbish bikes come with rubbish cranks, I bought a T-Pro, which was good bike to learn on, but I broke something every day I rode for about 2 months until finally the frame cracked. I bought my Zona Zip frame, upgraded a load of bits and now all I have to do is turn the rear pads round because I have plastic backings which make the pads wear at an angle.
The T-pros come with muscleman cranks, which were heavy and came loose all the time. I bouht some Echo forged, they have never come loose and are much stiffer, the only downside is you have to be careful with the pedal thread because they don't have steel inserts.
i got muclemen after 4 days on my t - bird (rip)
they still workin good
onza should degrade some of the parts to put on better cranks or sell it for more with better cranks
but if you do buy an onza get a t-pro
stay clear of the birds!!!
-
yer im kinda swung towards the echo because it looks like a ace frame with a lower price tag
is this a mistake or should i save up more ?
-
the only one worth waiting for there is the gu typhoon 07 since they have added the bash guard it will be one of the best bikes to ride out you will just have to wait, i know someone who has been waiting nearly 2months for it to come out.
you i love the look off the gu typhoon and it looks pretty good for any style
what about the czar?
:$
and most pple say i should get the zoo , is it overated?
-
T-pro for cheapness and coolness
a3 if you got the mulla
a3 looks good for the same cash i could get the:
zoo! python (£299)
echo team (£299)
czar 07 (£299)
or the gu typhoon (£299)
are any of these better?
even the echo lite for even cheaper (£210)

i have to say ive ridden the monty ones and it feels like your holding the bars and eventually they hurt a bit
but its personall prefrence i suppose
-
I bought t-bird cranks because i was in desprate need for some cranks and they are still going fine - No stripped threads, not rounded off they are like most things you have to look after them make sure the crank bolts are tight same goes for the pedals make sure they are tight and nipped up then they sould be fine.
Liam
thts the thing mine kept coming loose and the left one slid down the axle
there ok for about a week then they die , for me anyways
-
well as it says i need a new frame (mod)
got a budget of about 250 max and anything below
all your recomendations would be a gr8 help as i am stuck choosing
thnx

i got nothing on my plate like exams atm so its about 1.5hrs a day i spose im lucky really
-
i had the same cranks on my t-vee (also a shite bike) and they suck ass. i ended up getting armstrongs, which lasted me ok i guess. but the cranks you have got are rubbish as they are standard onza ones off a relitively cheap bike, so you cant expect alot mate
yer i changed mine for armstrongs also lol
t-bird cranks r the cheapest on tarty witch will persuade most pple
and thats bad!

painting my scrotum green add some eyes and a mouth
