  1. Yeah it's some crazy skull thing. I doodle it on stuff when I'm working
  2. I've just sat down for about an hour and reworked all this.. I should be able to just get away with almost having all 4 pawl seats equally round the freehub, and not wonky. I'll CAD it all up and see how it goes. Sam edit: Just spotted someone has already said something to this effect on the previous page. It apears that I was thinking too much in detail. My bad.
  3. As I said, think about it. With 3, they can all be equally spaced around because there is 21 clicks. 3 devides into 21 nicely. But if you put all 4 round equally spaced, they dont line up with the ratchet propperly, as 4 doesn't devide into 21 as a whole number. So I had to work out how many degrees in each 4mm ratchet click then add that and devide it by the four pawls and add that so they all engage individually. That's why it's wonky. I didn't realize I would have to do this untill I started drawing it. Understand?
  4. Yeah, there are notches from the ratchet cut the freehub I have here. Well, it would be a good solution for XC boys too, they don't have to stamp too hard on the pedals, but they need the engagements for hill climbing. Echo hubs, ummm, dunno looooooong time ago. Or maybe it was the first hope trial hub?
  5. Suppose so, we shall see. I'll do it anyway As for the aids, err, yeah.. Cull the people with aids, then it won't spread. Cured
  6. But just like Aids, there is a cure. I'll think of something
  7. Yeah, I could redesign the way the pawls work completely. However, it's something else to make at the end of the day, and I was thinking that if someone wanted one, all they need to do is put this in and keep the rest of thier internals. Good idea though. I will think about it and see if there is a foolproof solution. I could make all the spacers inside too, but with holes in so they are lighter
  8. Nah, because then you risk it going.. "click, click.......... click........ click... click.." It would work the way you are saying, but it wouldn't be a 'regular' click. It would be "off beat" as to say.
  9. Yep. It'll be interesting to see how it compares to my King. Well, on the engagement issue anyway.
  10. After some quick AutoCad, heres what your normal Hope freehub looks like; http://www.trials-forum.co.uk/forum/index....md=si&img=14713 After some more AutoCad, this is what my custom freehub will look like; http://www.trials-forum.co.uk/forum/index....md=si&img=14714 My custom freehub will consist of 4 offset pawl seats. Each pawl will ingage individually, just like the Echo 72ept hub. They look wonky, but that is how they have to be. As you see 3 will devide into 21 as a whole number, but 4 will not go into 21.. So.. ((360/21)/4)+90)..*2..*3.. That won't make sence to most of you. There will be obvious concerns about trusting all your weight on one pawl at a time instead of all three, but it works for echo "just" so it'll work for me. If it comes out good, I might make 3 or 4 and sell them off, I'll be machining them myself and will use either Ti or Stainless Steel, but right now it's all work in progress. Give me about a year and it'll be on my bike Sam
  11. Drill them if you want. It will 'work' yes. Centre punch it, drill a pilot hole, either use a hole saw, or a normal drill. If you don't understand any of that ^ then just don't bother.
  12. Ha, yeah I saw some on a bmx shop website not so long ago, I forget what one it was
  13. Got the bugger. Finally!! I used a vice as a spare hand to hold the freehub, then used two hands on the pliers that I filed dow to fit perfectly in the holes, then ground the pliers for more grip. Jobs a good un Cheers all.
  14. Neither are knackered, I just need it out to take some measurements. Still trying with these pliers. Grr. Just can't get enough grip.
  15. Well, I'm compressing it with a pair of long nose pliers, but I cant get enough grip on it to pull it out. Hmmmmn. Cheers though Wanye
  16. Ok, got one out, now how do i get the circlip off??
  17. Ah!! So, move the spacer accross, and hit the spacer to get the first bearing out? Then take off the circlip for the second? Sam
  18. Haha, yeah well spotted. I'll run it all through a spell checker before I upload it all again Might add some colour too, woo. Like a grey background lol.
  19. I gave it pasty, they didn't move. I hit it so hard, the hammer hammer of the rod thing im using to hit against and i whacked my finger and now I'm in pain. Ow.
  20. What just tap both of them out from the inside? It's not happening. I think they are pressed in. Hmmn.
  21. My KMC Z did that On one of the outside links though. I was running it too tight. Good you noticed!
  22. Cool. 28 at least, I think I want to be before I think about tying the knot. That all depends on current circumstances though. I have a lovely girlfriend at the moment, shes the happiest thing in my life, we may be together in years to come, who knows. I hope so though
  23. Congratulations man. I like weddings. Are you older than I think?
