  1. Sounds like you've done the right things...

    Were the springs looking good?

    Did it all reassemble ok?

Usually taking apart, cleaning and lightly lubing does the trick.

As for sending it to Hope, It depends really. They don't build wheels for repairs. Its easier and cheaper to send the hub if you can easily build the wheel abck up again.

I've send hubs back to Hope... 6 times now, and its just easier to take the wheel apart and send the hub.

Yeah, all looked fine, much better than my 4 or 5 year old XC anyway :P went back togeather fine aswell. The hub hasn't had trials abuse, hes an XCer, dosen't do any hard riding atall either.

We thought it would be like that, stripping and rebuilding the wheel isn't too much trouble. Thanks for the advice man :)

  2. My mates hope XC hub has been skipping alot recently, started skipping every so often about a month after he got it, the last two weeks its been getting worse. I took it apart for him about two months ago and cleaned it out, re-greased it and put light oil on the ratchet ring and pawls and it worked fine up till two weeks ago. When i took it apart there was no visible damage to the ratchet ring or pawls. Dose anyone have any idea what it could be?. Also if he sends the hub to hope, will he have to take the wheel apart?.

  3. i didnt really understand your first post, but i used to ride a mission prodigy with the oversized headset, forks etc.

The headset in mine is a fsa pig. im sure if your looking for a headset for it there will be one on chain reaction maybe?

Or are you not looking for a headset and im being gay?

He wants longer stem, but missions have 1.5 head tubes, headsets, steerers and stems instead of the normal 1 1/8th, seeing as there are no trials stems made in 1.5 (as far as i know), he needs to buy a new headset and forks. So yeah, he is looking for a new headset, but he needs a 1.5 reducer headset so he can run a normal 1 1/8th fork and stem :)

This should do the job http://www.chainreactioncycles.com/Models.aspx?ModelID=25722 With that headset you can use any 1 1/8th trials fork you want: http://www.tartybikes.co.uk/category.php?id=13 and also which ever stem you feel will suit your riding best: http://www.tartybikes.co.uk/category.php?id=29

Hope that was what you were looking for :)

EDIT: Although according to the mission website they have 1 1/8th headsets http://www.missioncycles.co.uk/Folding_Tri...1KEY%3A30PAR%3A

    dosen't look 1 1/8th to me though :S :S

  4. I have one an I can promise it's definitely not titanium. It has titanium stickers on it is because the fully built 221ti has a few titanium parts on it 'apparently'.

    there y'are.

O_o F**K paying 610 quid for that then, wouldn't pay that even if it was TI, but If its alu, what makes it worth that ammount of money, anyone know?

  5. Queen - Don't Stop Me Now

When I was at school we watched a film about Johnny Kennedy (for those who don't know who he is http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Johnny_Kennedy) and it was played at his funeral at the end of the film. The film basically showed how hard his life was, but he never gave up and always tryed to make the best of everything. After watching that i realised how lucky i am and that things could be much worse, that song reminds me of that and helps me get though stuff.

  6. To be fair, all these people saying stand up for yourself just hit them back harder or whatever have clearly never met a real 'chav' on the estates on the other side of town from me there are some compleat nutters and fair few of them carry knifes i've even heard stuff about people having guns held to their heads for phones, money etc.. I swear the police are too scared to go on the estates :S

I mean like standing up for yourself is fair enough but if someone pulls out a knife or a gun f**k that.

  7. Hi all

I pedal up on pretty much everything, its something i need to get out of really, im trying to get out of it, but it feels so much easyer to just pedal up than any other way.
