  1. HI i have just installed old type HS33 for rear, it is not the four bolt fitting and I have eliminated a lot of the flex by running 2 boosters. The original magura booster is where it usually goes and I also fitted a Vee type stiff cnc alloy booster with appropriate spacing to the brake bosses themselves. My vee booster has the bonus of being able to fine tune the pads via small allen screws aswell. This was all because my disc brake (which although nobody rates in this forum clim8) is in service and my tryall rim is contributing extra brake power into the frame.
  2. Ive been riding clim8 rear disc but only for DH, I tried swapping it today to use for trials but going to swap back to maggies. I couldnt feel how much stopping was being applied anyway so back to HS33 for now. Very interesting to hear weak points accentuated by using disc though.
  3. Anyone need diagrams for traditional 3 cross spoke patterns go here: http://www.sheldonbrown.com/wheelbuild.html
  4. No way...I got up early started swapping bits off my dh bike onto my trials frame to find some well loose spokes...I arranged for my bike shop to tweak it back seein as they built it not so long ago...At the same time, I pressed my rear disc brake without the wheel fitted and splurt...all the fluid started seeping out...ok so they didnt charge much to bleed and none of the fluid went on the pads , but when I got it back from repair, its all spongey and doesnt stop...I have a nice new build that I cant test ride. great. They can sort it out after weekend but no riding for me , shame as its glorious weather
  5. Got my new crank, just installed new headset but I have to go out for a bit...Will check out splash point this afternoon hoping that my 2.6 tyres fit between my front brake booster....See you later then?
  6. Hi i just got some spares from middleburn so I can be out riding for tomorrow? Ill look out for trials at splash point at about 12 ish Anyone know how to fill out spec list on here? I cant even find how to change my bike to stock it says mod but thats wrong.. Hope to see new people to ride with very soon then?
  7. Hi , I always rode on my own, learning from online videos as everyone seemed so much more skilled than me. There was a group who would ride splash point but I was well intimidated by that much skill and I took it much easier. Often in places unseen by the public. You are welcome to add me to msn. Mike
  8. Hi mate I live in worthing and not far from brighton add me to msn and email if u like, Ive not ridden all summer and before that I was just starting out so some practise is well needed....
  9. Hi Yes the forks are trailblade, Ok Thanks for reply,l I really didnt think that I could lower centre of gravity by reducing weight on front end but its good physics really. I do have some lighter forks, they are P-bones, but they feel like they lowered the BB height on my frame and made me lean over the front wheel more... Is this a problem really? It felt funny to ride anyway and I put my trailblades on. I found the DMRs very easy to use as a counter balance when pulling manuals, but im here to learn how to climb higher obstacles!
  10. Hi Ive not yet finished my re-build yet, Im waiting on a new front brake but do you guys think the reason I couldnt get very much lift is because my rear wheel was only a deore LX on a D521 rim? I couldnt run very low tyre pressures and I dont weigh very much so I wasnt bouncing onto the tyre much at all? I now have a Koxx tryall rim on the rear with 2.6 Kenda tyre, also the front wheel when its built will be a 24/7 45 mm wide rim aswell...I am running clim8 rear disc but as I mentioned its not quite finished bike...Giant Hawyes frame and DMR straight forks chris king headset, I cant wait to start riding this !!! Please, will my new rear rim combo help me get more height?
