you can get a working holiday visa for australia, which enables you to live there for 12 months, you can only stay at each place of employment for 6 months, many people do this, and float around bars, restaurants, farms etc, renewing the visas for a couple of years.
This sounds good to me. Obviously I'm just gathering as much information as possible at the minute, and also saving up money. I just really want to get away, and I feel that now is the best time to do it, while I've got nothing to hold me back

93 members have voted, I'm pretty impressed

Right straight to the point, I'm looking to make a fresh start and me and a friend are really considering trying to find work abroad, possibly Australia.
Problem is, got no idea where to start, how much it's going to cost etc.
If anyone has any information or help it would be appreciated, or if anyone on here knows of anyone who has done this, a bit of feedback on how they've found it would be ace.
Cheers,
Andy

This is kind of weird, I'm an Avionics Techy in the RAF, sucks you didnt get in though mate they're attempting to lay off 7,000 of us. Dont settle for some shit job, I could of easily got put off when I was joining up. Broke my ankle so couldn't do the medical and then my trade closed for about 6 months but I stuck with trying to get in and now I've been in over 3 years and it's good. I cant see myself doing anything else other than winning the lottery. What I'm saying is get some motivation and do not give up with whatever you pursue. Good luck buddy.
Spot on advice mate, cheers. Motivation is exactly what I need. Life's been a bit up and down at the minute but with a bit of help and guidance off the good old parents I'm starting to see a better future.
Cheers for all the advice everyone, been brilliant

I'm up for it

Got to admit, I just ride for fun, and sometimes to vent aggression so to speak. But I can fully understand how maybe a riding style Could be seen as expressing yourself. For example big aggressive riding compared with more smooth technical riding?

I had the same problem when I needed one, went to the Stockport branch and asked for one only to be told by the lad there (who was actually pretty clued up to be fair) that the manager wouldn't even let them have one for repairs let alone sell them!
What! The lad I spoke to had a look through the toolbox for one but turned his back to me obviously so I couldn't see and then pretended to look through then telling me they didn't even have one for repairs. He clearly didn't even know what the tool looked like

I think the general conclusion here is that 99.9% of halfords are shit.

Loved the riding, hated the song

The ones on the top tube are a bit excessive maybe it would look better with just one? And I can't get away with the ones on the forks to be honest, think you could lose them ones altogether
But let's be honest, they're just stickers, bike still looks super cool mate I really like it

So I've got a new freewheel and I decided I would fit it last night. Went in the garage looked for my freewheel tool which had disappeared, turns out my brother took it with him when he moved out and he told me he couldn't find it, and it was f**cked anyway. So I thought ah what the he'll I'll just go and get another one from halfords since they're open later. So I there had a look for the tool, with no luck, but I'm sure I had seen them there before so I asked the lad if they had one, to which his face seemed to drop, so I gave him a bit of a description and he had a look and tells me, we don't have one, he doesn't think they have ever had such a tool and he's never even seen one in the halfords repairs tool box before. He then proceeds to tell me that my freewheel will not be reusable if I remove it, but if I really had to, I should just use a screwdriver and a hammer. He was clearly clueless in my opinion.
Some pretty crap mechanical advice eh? This is why halfords is always my last resort, for anything. Not to mention the prices anyone else experienced the same kind of shoddy service that I have?

Pretty pathetic, but after finishing with my girlfriend I'm not sleeping very well So that's my reason for late nights.
Plus being a nerd and browsing the internet all night pointlessly

I'm going to bet my boots that the average age in chit-chat is higher than in other parts of the forum.
The statistics seem to be favouring your point, Greetings.
EDIT: The thread seems to be getting a bit 'doggy' so here's my contribution.
My use of words is terrible for sexual references sometimes.

Yeah I would go second hand for a first bike as it's likely to get bashed around a bit while you get to grips with things
Plus if you buy new and discover the sport isn't for you you'll lose a lot more money when you sell the bike on than you would if it was second hand.

In reply to the trouser munching factor I think you'll be surprised at how little this will happen, unless you wear super baggy pants to ride in anyway
As for the Gearing ratio, I'm no expert. So I'll not pretend I am lmao

That's f**cking horrible mate!
Hope it's healing alright

Good idea that, I also tried it on a rail tonight. Really effective for that too

Just out of complete curiosity I just randomly thought of how much of a broad age range we have on the forum. So I thought what the hell let's do a pole and find out the average
Before I get people whining on at me, this is in no way meant to be judgemental or anything, boredom has probably set in and just wanted to find out

Show your teacher a video of him and say then simply say 'that's how.'

The verdict - Monty brake spray + grind = super honkingly loud mega brake.
