  1. i would say almost all maxxis are good for a rear 2.35 - 2.7 (if frame will take it) mostly DH maxxis work the best, ive had a few in past years but the high roller dual ply slow reezay is by far the best ive used. very good for grip, sharp rocks, walls etc and they almost take it hands down on pucture resistance (pinch or thorn/glass), the only tyres i have had better them is a prestine 3 years useage and not 1! pucture on a set of mich hot-s tubeless tyres which have been on 2 bikes now they have survived so long, down side is their not as grippy as the high roller and on a sloped surface the high roller will hold that bit better before giving. front tyres are more open 2 choice, the majority of tyres will do, wheight and grip factors varie so choose what you may with reason.
  2. it being the crank arm, another option if you dont want to save the old sprocket, just put the sprocket in the vice anyway, tighten hard and use crank arm for leverage. i had to get mine removed and sent it to leisure lakes where they broke 2 of their chain whips gettin it off and only charged me £5 so thats the last shout. they wont be doing anything we wouldnt but for time, effort, and tools/money, let a good bike shop do it.
  3. i dissagree, if you have the money and want a freehub, hope pro 2/3 or if still willing to spend more you could go for a king. not so knowledgable on fixed units but in my opinion they should all be fairly similar so echo, gu, zoo etc are all similar prices and quality. BUT the crankset end is where you need to pay attention to if your going down the fixed road.
  4. the usual techniques to get onto the back wheel easily: lock both brakes (static), swing wheight over front wheel and transfer the momentum over to the back wheel and the front will rise. how high it rises depends on the momentum, centre of gravity and body position. master that and in time you will gain better ballance. similar to the above you could start with an "endo"(F+R brake locked) and transfere body wheight over to the back wheel to find the ballancing point. final easy to pull manouver is the crank ins which rolling the cranks quickly (maybe an 1/8 - 1/4 of a rotation) which will bring the front up providing your wheight is far back enough. try keeps limbs/ joints slightly bent to give you better control (elbows, knees, hips etc). GO ON!!! GET ON YER BIKE!
  5. i was going to fit a pair of manitou's to my koxx just to see how it changes the ride, forks are very light an appear to be strong (fingers crossed) i just havnt got round 2 doing it. but on the subject of fitting hs33's, why bother with a specific 4 bolt mount when you can get a 2 bolt adapter which opens your fork choice even wider.
  6. yo give us a call if you can please mate. safe

  7. yeah even worse is when they break in your garage and rob £7k's worth of push bikes n motor bike!! luckily my motor bike lead them 2 getting caught within hours and i got EVERYTHING back, lightening doesnt strike twice though! so bottom line is you may not know it but there maybe people out there who see what your riding and happen to want to steal it, if your on it, slim chance they will try, but dont leave it open to debate while you grab a drink from the shop. some crack edd a few years back put a knife to my mates throat for his orange patriot, he got out of that situation but think what to do before you do it. on a positive note the weather has improved hugely in the last few weeks!! 5x the traction compared to last month lol
  8. safe. good to see your using the forum again!!!

  9. good footage, i've only just stopped aching a few days ago lol it wasnt the most productive ride i have done but the trials bike hadnt been touched over winter and with danny mac, the belaey's, ali c, mad riders, rowan etc you cant help but watch. i got a guy on footage (forgot his name) who snapped his forks on that retaining wall in the skate park, think i was the only person 2 record that aswell. a fellow rider + friend who livs near me done the editing, not bad over-all check it out if u havnt already seen it on members. http://www.trials-forum.co.uk/forum/index....ils&id=1669 or look at the post: http://www.trials-forum.co.uk/forum/index....howtopic=132376 enjoy
  10. thanks the bb sounds like a good buy, glad you pointed that out. which leaves me with 1 question; do i go for the rs7's orrrrrr the trial techs? i hear of fat pasties snapping rs7's but at 10 stone i dont think i have much to worry about but are the trial tech's available in blue? i think x-type is a good option but if theres not enough on the market for trials then ill stick with proven products (isis). thanks for input guys
  11. better idea ---- www.commercialbreaksandbeats.co.uk type in the company who were advertising and you will find the title to the song, then go on limewire, kazza, winmx, napster which ever and download the song worked for me numerous times.
  12. im running 2 bb7's on my cannondale full sus and a m8's got a bb7 on front of echo and for the money you cant fault them, total cost is around £50-£55 incl leveer where a hope trial will cost double. cable adjustments every now n then or 8 to 10 months have a bleed, personally i'd say bb7's but thats for you 2 decide.
  13. buying a crankset and BB in nxt month and i would like to know others opinions. im a little out of date on cranks, at present im running a reasonable set of FSA cranks, VIZ screw-on sprok and a little koxx bash. im i want to be running an 18t chain ring, can use my existing 1 if needed and not a major but would like anno blue crank arms in X-type. BB im open to suggestions but would want hollow tech (x-type) anno blue BB. the hope x-type worth buyin? budget is open so dont mind going to round £200 or so. middle burns may be a thought, rs7 or rs8's i dont know you guys advise. thanks vince
  14. disk would be nice..... but think when you hoppin up a high wall and hold the tyre a little over the edge and i still get a maggie slip (not with heat sinks though) and in all honesty the physics behind how brakes means if a maggie slips the a disk almost definatly would. i have ridden a DOB mod with rear hyd disk and it was sh1t hot, cant fault it but on a 26 i have my doubts untill more powerfull units are on the market and like a few have mentioned their prone 2 bendin by being available 2 hit, if your rear tyre slips off a wall or rail that rotor is next to feel a slam. stick with hs33, there are plenty of pads to choosre out on the market with disks being more limited and pad choice does make a vast diffrence.
  15. good tip: GET IT BUILT BY A PROFFESSIONAL, makes a world of diffrence as 2 how long it stays true but obviously rim choice first. echo rims i hear are good, not sure bout the 20's but most likely as good as their 26's. denting, flatspots etc are too high impacts on surface area so higher tyre pressure or more importantly compress your landings more, ankles, knees, waist etc
