07 160mm Hope Mono Trial up front and 07 HS33 rear with Zoo pads and smooth rim. Hope disc is brilliant I would have one on the rear but have no disc mount. HS33 is ok but I actually found my old cheap Moe pads to be better than the Zoo pads
Tartbikes sell the Zhi Zm2 frame in white at £205 was £295 Which side bearing went on yours? The smaller bearing on the right hand side or the larger one on the left hand/disc brake side? Mine was the smaller one on the right. Is the bearing a standard size that my local bike shop should have?
Cranks, headset & brakes etc are great as they are try-all viz hope etc but most of the Zhi stuff is crap. Frame is good but typical chinese quality prevailes with the rest of the Zhi parts. Zhi parts keep coming loose and one of the front wheel bearings is shot already and I only got it wednesday this week. Also spokes were loose on both wheels when it came out of the box so I had to re-tension the spokes. I suppose i've been spoilt riding Orange bikes for the last couple of years
You need to work on explosive power. Brute strength isn't going to help you. You need to apply the power in the shortest time possible. Look how boxers train, plyometrics etc. I know these things, I thai box! lol
It will be my first mod bike as I have just sold my stock bike. I may not be the best person to ask about long or short frames but there is a thread on here about long or short frames; http://www.trials-forum.co.uk/forum/index....howtopic=111878
I always keep my enduro bikes chained up with an insurance approved lock and a ground anchor. Had a £1000 xc bike stolen before so I know how gutting it is. Keep an eye on ebay as they sometimes pop up on there. Good luck getting it back mate.
I have ridden competively at upto national level in motorbike trials in the past and bike trials for fun. What similarities and differences do you perceive between the two disciplines?
