I just brought a giro hex 08 helmet, they look really good and they are very lite weight and only costs about 45 quid off www.chainreactioncycles.co.uk.
I have also had a giro E2, but dont get one if you have a small head because you will look like a mushroom:P

i use 19 12 on a mod mate, and i think it awesome, lots more power for back wheeling/wheely hoping, and doesn't affect the side hop too much,
170mm cranks by the way,
rob
Thanks for you reply
Is it ok for gapping off rails, small object ect?
Cheers Gary
-
What length cranks do you have?
If they're 170mm, then you have the perfect ratio really...
Yeah they are 170mm, but i want to see what peoples views are on 19-12 gearing.
Because i want to try a slightly harder gearing.
Gary.

Mmmmm..... Gear Ratios
And none of them has anything about 19-12 gearing on a mod.
So thats why i made this topic.
Gary

Firstly use spell check
Well mate its down to your own opinion.
Do you want a second bike?Or do you want the money?
personally i would buy a frame with completely different geo to the one you have now
and ride them both
Gary.

Please use the search in future this topic comes up all the time.
For your information i have searched and nothing came up, for a 19-12 gear ratio for mod.
so please use the search in future before you post pointless posts!
im going to go for the 19-12 gear ratio i will let u know what i think people

16 - 12 . . thats pretty hard really.
If you find 18 - 12 a bit too easy, you could give 19 - 12 ago, I'm not sure if you can get 19 tooth screw on sprockets or freewheels though. If not you could drop to an 11 on the back . . if your running a profile or can find an 11 tooth threaded sprocket, but that might be quite a bit stiffer, it makes more of a diffrence if you change the back sprocket rather than the front.
Cheers tom
Yeah Ive seen the 19T screw on sprocket on tartys.
I reckon ill give it a go i just feel that i need a little bit harder gearing set up for back wheeling.
Does anyone think it may affect side hops lunges etc?
Gary.
-
No I'm running a profile rear hub.
16-12 will just be silly that will be to low gearing.
anyone reckon 19-12 is worth trying?
Gary
-
hey everyone
I'm currently running a gear ratio of 18-12, its feeling a little light for back wheeling
as I'm running a longer frame.
So I'm thinking of running a 19-12 ratio so its slightly harder.
I would like to know your views e.g will it affect any other aspects of riding?
cheers Gary

yh i liked megamos they where abit short for me though, loads of people rode them at comps though. Anyone have any idea where brisa went?
-
hi everyone, i have been out of the game for a little while, I'm just wondering where megamo and brisa bikes disappeared to?
i would like to know the reasons for both of them stopping making bikes?
they were nice bikes back in the day.
cheers Gary.

i know onza make 24" forks for there onza zoot bikes.
rim should be ok, or you can get 24" ronnie and reggie rims.
you could use 26: forks with a disk.
as for the spokes they will have to be for a 24", bike best bet is to get tarty to build it.

I ordered my zoo python frame from Spain, i got it for 280 inc postage which is very reasonable.
plus i received my frame before it had even been properly released in th UK:D
but i guess they may rape you on postage on a fully bike.
best bet mate get some quotes!

Back Disk Or Not
in Beginners Trials Chat
Posted
From the rear disk trials bikes i have rode, I think they are really nice!
Pros.
Hold better then maguras when wet.
They have a nice bite and dont slip.
Very low maintenance.
Cons.
Easy to bend disk.
Have been know to help crack frames around the chain stays.
I personally would run a disk for natural riding and run a magura for street riding.
