Any way to do it without angle grinder?
Well you can use a Stanley knife to cut the nobbles off and then maybe use really rough sandpaper? I haven't done the sandpaper bit so I don't know.
Angle grinder is the best way by far as it doesn't take very long to do although it does make quite a mess so I would do it outside.

Depending on how much you want to take off an angle grinder is good to use, I would advise using a rounded off blunt disk because a sharp disk will just cut straight into the tyre.

I am truly blown away by this guys ability to ride a bike! You cant tell if he's doing a frenchie or straight to back he's that fast!
This has got me in the best riding mood ever! I just wish that that the weather wasn't so horrible
