  1. Nonsense! I am 6ft 1 also and bought a Tmag last summer and It Rocks! +It is not too small for me. Mods are long bikes and its not like mountain biking where you need to get one with enuff clearance so as not to bash your balls. Sizing is all about length and some mods are well loong! I think a Mod is a good place to learn for anyone.
  2. Just wanted to add my tupennyworth. If there is something you really enjoy doing and there is work in that area then you should do that. I am speaking from experience. i'm sitting here at work now after 6 weeks of holiday and lots to do (im a teacher) and I'm writing to you instead because it is more fun than what Im supposed to be doing! I made the mistake of doing what I thought I was supposed to do by studying an academic subject at uni. I immediately knew that I wasn't engaged by it but my determination made me stick with it for 3 years. I ended up with a crappy degree and not being interested in the options that it gave me. So I became a teacher. It is ok, I'm not complaining, I actually enjoy it sometimes, but I often think about other fun things that I'd much rather be doing. I also tried doing financial sales once but you have to be a real heartless cutthroat b*****d to do that and willing to fuk everyone else over to get what you want. You also have to be willing to give soo much of your time that you hardly have a life outside work. I couldn't do it and wasn't prepared to make the sacrifices. Accountancy is less evil but (in my humble opinion) very dull. On the other hand my brother is a music type and studied music technology at uni. He had an amazing time and now has a really fun interesting job setting up parties for celebs and wealthy people. So the moral is do what you enjoy and try to find a way to make money doing something you enjoy. It is the best way to a satisfying proffessional life. good luck and thanks for the note about my brakes.
  3. Yeah, thanks for the sugestion, nice Idea, but from what i remember when I was putting them back they only fit one way. if you put them in the wrong sides they don't go into the holes. I guess its not normal for them to rub then?
  4. Hi I have a brand new magaura louise front disc brake which was already set up when I bought the bike but I have had a few problems with it. The guys in the shop must'v handled the front disc with greasy fingers and the brake squeaked like hell. The rims were covered in black grease. I followed the advice I was given and took out the pads baked them in the oven for a few minutes to evaporate the oil and I cleaned everything else up. So Today I took the bike out for a test drive and I noticed the pads rubbing on the disc. I don;t remember if this was happening before and I wanted to ask is this normal? Or have I mucked something up? Also the brakes are not really responding sharply. Is this because the pads will need to be worn in again?
  5. so everybody says echo? If the Tmag has a nicer frame doncha thinkit would be better to start with the frame cos i can always upgrade other parts.
  6. Thnk for the advice have you ridden one?
  7. Hi y'all Finally decided to invest in a proper trials bike after getting tired of pretending that my old GT with a tooth fairy and wide riser bars passes for one. I have narrowed my choice down to 2 ....I think Onza Tmag '08 for £650 or Echo lite for £850 I am 6ft1 and I want to be comfortable on the frame geometry. right now I think my preference would be the Tmag although I think it is slightly shorter. Has anyone ridden these bikes and can give me a real verdict. or any advice on frame geomety for a lanky bugger like me? Cheers
  8. Hello dude, nice bike but how does it ride? I have been considering buying one too but im 6ft1 and I think its quite small no? my other options are onza Tmag 08 or Echo lite? What do you think?
