  1. Creationists are like history deniers, holocaust deniers if you will. In fact the evidence in the case for evolution is far stronger than that that remains for the holocaust.

Evolution is plain fact, the evidence is there for you to see should you decide to pull your head out of the sand.

I don't care about your religion and I haven't even mentioned it, Joe. All I care about is the truth.

  2. John 8:47

"Those who belong to God hears what God says. The reason you dont hear is because you dont belong to God"

In other words if you dont accept it you aint gonna see jack.

I believe and I have seen the work of God through out my life, Ive found strength, Ive found hope, love and relief from pain.

I know plenty on the topic, and have heard lots about it, and Im sorry but it still doesnt make sence.

Indeed I have questioned my faith and when ever I do, I just end up being proven that Christianity is correct, evolution has never made any sence to me.

Watch John Mackay http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=mICW7_llfR0 he proves the existance of God through science.

exorcisms for one, nothing but religion can solve that.

On the topic of reptiles. Natural selection states that the largest and strongest animals live. So there are lizzards with no wings and some that have wings, so when the winged lizard was in the process of evolving to have wings, it couldnt fly and was no good at running because of its half formed wings, why did it survive natural selection?

I know that evolution just happend over night, I have knowledge on the topic.

Evolution has not proved anything, and dont use the whole carbon dating thing, because that doesnt even work, all it does is tell you if something is older than something else, it doesnt give an actual date at all. A rock that is supposedly 3.4million years old can only be 100 years old, the age that people get from carbon dating is just a guess.

You cant say that the eye is no good, through gene mutation an eye that can draw light in and then interprate what it is seeing is rubbish, the eye is too complex and sensitive for that, and if evolution is real, millions of years ago animals had eyes, so why did they not evolve over that time? and why has not a dogs eye evolved over millions of years to have colour?

And lastly, we all came from single cell organsims (Way back in the begining) that divided to make a complete replica. At what stage did we need to have male and female to reproduce, that is more of a set back than an advantage, would it not be better if humans could divide to reproduce? instead of 9 months of carring the baby and then years of bringing it up.

Have you ever noticed that Athiests and Evolutionist are agressive and abusive against Christians? Of topic I know but its something I have noticed.

Seems they are real defensive and dont like people chalanging them.

You're obviously a very accomplished and learned scientist and I bow before your superiour knowledge.

    Yours sincerely,

    Daniel Leadbetter BSc.

(Joe, I seriously suggest you actually take the time to go and learn about evolution before you even think of talking about it. You are totally wrong on every point and your total refusal to look at or accept the evidence just demonstrates plain ignorance. I can point you in the direction of literally hundreds of books to read [not just the one ancient book of hand me down tales] and places you can go and observe the evidence for yourself)

  3. He's from New Zealand, so i doubt it.

Maybe that goes some way towards explaining his smal minded outlook.

The "Eye argument" is an old and flawed one.

If the eye is so perfectly formed then why do half the population of the Earth need glasses? I'll tell you why, because it isn't so perfect. In fact it's very badly designed indeed, if you were to subscribe to the idea that it has a designer, which it doesn't.

It's quite a bocth up as a result of a series of adaptations. Still quite a remarkable piece of aparatus, but maybe we think that because we depend on it so much.

The eye didn't simply spring into existence randomly, and evolution doesn't claim that it did.

It is the result of a long line of non-random selection through environmental pressures on survival. Natural selection.

Consider the the idea that an eye with only half the function that you're accustomed to would still be more useful than no eye. Then maybe that an organism with even only slightly better functionality would have a definite advantage when it comes to survival and subsequently breeding and the further spread of such genes into the gene pool that result in the greater frequency of better eyesight...

I could write pages and pages on this and point you to all the EVIDENCE, but I fear you appear to be a "dyed in the wool" creationist and I may be wasting my time.

  4. I know people havent posted in here in a while.

But from reading what people have said against Christianity, they obviously havent read a thing about it.

Saying there is no evidence at all is uttter rubbish, there is proof through out the world of what God has done and continued to do.

And the bible is not just random stories, read them and you will find that they can be linked to modern situations.

Cats and dogs cannot interbreed according to evolution right? So what about a zebra and a horse? or a black bird and a thrush? they are so similar to each other yet they dont reproduce with each other.

Face it, evolution is all about random happenings that dont add up. And as people have said about eyes, how can a random act produce an eye that does so much? or produces a brain that can tell a whole body how to work and has a nervous system and sensors for touch, sight, smell and taste.

Go ahead and call me names or what ever, but I know it and you know it

    EVOLUTION IS UTTER BOLLOCKS.

People who dont want to follow a religion are either too uneducated on the topic, are stubborn or are afraid to commit to it because they think that they wont be able to have fun.

    I hope you've been watching BBC4 form 10pm tonight!

  5. The reason that things dont add up is because its made up. Christianity doesn't add up and has plenty of holes in it.

Blind faith believers dont actualy re-evaluate things, they see a problem and make up some cock and bull story to fill it.

Saying that humans evolved from Monkeys and that changed to suit our enviroment is dumb, if its true why cant I grow furr all over my body in the winter? or grow realy tall so I can change a light bulb?

If humans and animals evolve, why dont seals grow realy thick skins and become super huge so they dont get clubbed all the time?

Humans have not evolved, they have simply learnt things. The Germans had plans for Rail Guns during WWII but never got a chance to make them, if we do evolve, why did not the next generation of Gremans have the knowledge to build them, why has it taken 60 years to only build a gun that can shoot around corners with out exposing youreslf?

And, why do I not have the same knowledge as Albert Einstien? he was brainy shouldnt I have evolved to know what he did?

And why dont humans evolve to have complete knowledge when they are first born?

Its all just the order in which we learn stuff.

You are a complete moron. You clearly know nothing about what evolution or natural selection actually is.

Your arguments are so childish and short sighted it's difficult to begin to correct you without explaining the whole thing in great detail.

    Wiki on natural selection

  6. Of course :) Whats wrong with putting it down to God instead of us as humans trying to claim we did it and be proud of ourselves and our intelligence etc? We're too proud to admit God couldve done it when we dont have an answer for it. Thats a shame

What's wrong with the pursuit of knowledge and understanding? Ignorance of the evidence that is there to explain alot of the reasons you are here and just saying 'it must be god" instead of making the effort to elighten yourself of the truth, now that's a shame.

  7. At the least its a very unpolite and offending topic (In my opinion).

Why shouldn't your religious views be open to critcism? Just as, say, your political views or your opinions on the arts.

Oh, that's right, politics are the arts are real. To question the existence of your big sky fairy is just plain embarassing for you.

  8. Strange that christians seem to have this unspoken respect for other religions despite the total narcicism that surounds their chosen faith being the only/best one. It's like they secretly aknowledge some sort of universal Pascal's wager. In order for their chosen belief to survive criticism they can't (as moderate believers) attack each others choice of faith. They're part of a larger vaguely defined group of believer,m perotect the beleifs of others because it presrves the unquestioned 'respect' for your own whack beliefs.

  9. What I dont get is why people would rather believe that when they die, thats it , they are just a corpse in the ground, over believing that if they are a Christian during their life on earth and they will be rewarded with eternal happiness in heaven.

I would rather have that than nothing!

    Commonly referred to as delusion.

Just because something is comforting doesn't make it true.

  10. A system of belief can exist in any context. For example, every day you believe that gravity exists, that people will obey traffic lights, and a tomato tastes a certain way. Each of those is an act of faith. Every time I drive through a green light, I believe that no-one will disobey a red light and hit me.

It's no big leap to have someone saying "If you live a good life, you will go to heaven."

You're totally confusing faith and belief. Faith having no grounding in knowing.

  11. We live in a free world, people can believe what they want to - you choose not to believe, others choose to. This doesn't mean they're stupid or bad people. Perhaps it means that they're minds are a little more open than yours and like to believe in something more than what is visable.

No matter what evidence is bought to light, no matter what you say, do or suggest to them won't make the slightest bit of difference - I'm sure they've heard anything you have to say a million times over.

I can assure you my friend, this is not open-mindedness. Something closer to blind ignorance, I'd say.

  12. Christianity is such a 'watertight*' theory that its hard to argue with it.

    Arew you seroius?!!!

Watertight? It's pissing allover the place like an incontinent 90 year old! Look at it's movement on moral stance through the ages. It changes it's stance on any issue according to the shifting moral zeitgeist. There's no real constant to it. It's just self-serving.

Even the 'moderate' religious of any faith are contributing towards the permisive culture that allows fundamentalism to thrive. How anyone of 'faith' can claim to be a person of fact and reason is beyond me. How can the one most supposedly most important thing in some peoples lives be the only thing which they don't scrutinise in even the slightest bit of detail. It's some kind of subverted egotism, the need to feel that you're more special. Humans are masters at self delusion, it's a proven survival mechanism.

The sooner people open themselves up to discovering the truth and facts that are out there the better. It's only ignorance that allows these ancient superstitions to survive.

  13. Its only chit chat u fool not like its enything important.
Do you purposley spell "enything" and "eny" like that?
    Im scottish bye the way.

It's not just about the spelling. It's about being taken seriously because you don't sound like an illiterate moron.

  14. I heard that if your circumsiesed, your more likely to get AIDs.

    That's just what I read

Actually it's the other way round. Same applies for other infections and diseases.

The seem to be a lot of individuals who take some sort of misguided sense of pride in being 'intact'.

  15. You have to hope you're not going to just rot in the ground though, you have to hope something else will happen after. Be it being put into another body with your memory wiped, or going to what the bible portrays as Heaven..

Do you really? I'm really glad I'm not you in that case, your life must be really crap if you need that. I find that would only cheapen the time you have. Start making the most of and enjoying the short time you're going to be here.

  16. You can call me stupid for believing in God, but I can call you stupid for not believing.

I feel alot better living life thinking at the end of it, something good will happen and I'm not just going to be skull-f**ked by maggots. I like the idea of Heaven

Ideally a belief is based on some sort of fact or evidence, really what you are talking about is your faith. I'm sure most people would agree that to believe in something with no evidence would be a little bit stupid. Believing (or not believing) in something based on evidence and fact would be, arguably, less stupid.

Just because an idea is comforting or useful to you doesn't make it true.

  17. without humans there wouldn't really be the concept of 'beauty', would there?

How do you know that ?

If a tree falls in the woods... yada yada. You know what I mean- If there were no humans and you were an alien, or a photon or a quark or whatever you care to be passing by, from the observers point of view the planet would be in a far better state than it is with our impact.

The quote marks were there for a reason, bitchtits.

    Think about it.

  18. Worthless is the wrong word. Completely insignificant is more like it. The Matrix was right though- human beings are effectively a plague on what would otherwise be a beautiful planet.

without humans there wouldn't really be the concept of 'beauty', would there?

  19. Gonna disagree with that.

So you pronounce the word 'deraillieure' as something like 'de-ray-urgh' because it's derived from French? And all these words get the French pronunciation too? Art, competition, force, machine, police, publicity, role, routine, table?

I said language in which it BELONGS, not derived. Learn to read before you try to assert such small point scoring pettiness.

  20. English is a complicated language. Where ever you're from depicts on how you say things. There is never a right and wrong way to pronounce something as long as it looks and sounds OK to you.

    Wrong.

What chauvinism to assume everything has to be in English.

You should ideally pronounce a word as it would be pronounced in the language to which it belongs.

  21. I think what we have here is a small minded individual. He's reacted to something he clearly doesn't understand in the only way he knows how, by dismissing it. Any intelligent person would be open-minded and inquisitive.

His limited outlook on life and the world and his influence on others is very unfortunate. His attitudes will probably never change, you should present yourself to that forum revealing his misconceptions then stop worrying about him and leave him to read his Daily Mail.
