    Press this button.

Paste in the location of your picture.

That's a web address that ends in an image type. JPG is the usual one. If the image url ends in jpg?=1234o827498274o874097234087 then delete the shit out of that end stuff, you just want it to say .jpg

    Then make a post.

    Cheers! :D much appreciated!

  2. Right, I'm far from a computer whizz and am totally confused on how to post images so that they come up in my post and not as a link to photobucket. How do I go about this as last time I tried, it said that, that sort of link wasn't allowed??

I some how managed to do this many moons ago but am defeated by this atm, any help is greatly appreciated!

  3. What kind of riding are you doing? Street/tgs, comps etc? What is it that you don't like about your current frame?

Based on these factors along with which brakes you plan to run are a big factor in frame choice. Perhaps you want a slightly longer frame for more static moves or something more flicky and agile for more comp based moves?

Have a look on tarty or google and look into the geometrys of different frames that you like and try to get an idea of what would suit your riding then you can refine your search from there!

  4. very helpful man thanks!!

cant check at the moment but if my wb is 1040, i most likely have a long, or no? i bought the bike 2nd hand, so all i can go off is what the guy told me and what i measured...hard to find a custom frame option in the states for less than $1200+ USD...outside of marino, do you know of any slightly cheaper custom options that will ship to the states?

and im assuming adamant as a company folded? or deng just concentrates on echo and zoo! now??

No worries! I think as the economic climate worsened circa '08> it was deemed to be un cost effective to be running all 5 of the companies (GU, ZOO!, Echo, Czar and Adamant), hence the two brands being carried, Echo and ZOO! as they are more widely known??? Anyway......

To see if you have the long version, you'll need to measure the REACH (centre of bb shell to centre of the top of the headtube) this will determine it as it will be the construction of the frame that differs in frame length, if you get what I mean?

About picking a new frame, a bit of advice I can give is to look into the REACH length. Although wheelbase does matter, the reach is often overlooked, but is a vital measurement. I was riding an 06 Python running a 1055-60mm wb and now run an 08 GU Typhoon. The new wheelbase measures 1035-45 (off the top of my head) but, because the reach is 15-20mm longer on the GU, it feels just as long as the Python despite the wheelbase being shorter. Coupled with shorter chainstays, the GU feels a lot more flickable to ride!

  5. Its not uncommon for the older deng frames to work out longer than they state. My 06 Python measured 1055-60mm with Echo Lites, even though it was advertised as 1045mm lol.

The Trialtech forks are slightly taller than most forks, thus pushing your front wheel further forward, do you know that you have the LONG frame for definate?

To check, measure the distance from the centre of the bottom bracket shell to the centre of the headtube. According to T-UK, the short frame is 595mm and the long 610mm.

    Hope this has helped! :)

  6. I say 1 can. I've still got a fair bit of mine left after stripping a MTB frame, numerous 26" rims, a set of forks and a car bumper! As long as you use it sensibly and not waste any it'll last ages!

Colour wise, I have my GU's all black (one with silver rims) but silver is also a safe colour. Just go with what you want and experiment, after all, you can always strip it if you change your mind! :P

  7. If you do decide to go Hope, get yourself on ebay. I bought an 05 (all black/silver bore cap) one that is the 180mm model for £50. Currently running it on a mod and its insane! The bite is incredible and the hold, just as good. Compared to the newer style (which I have on my 26") the older one feels more powerful. The modulation is also great which makes it very easy to roll down stuff, and control the bike for front end moves.

My current set up is all standard (lever/pads/disk) with the only modification being the fork disk tabs being faced to allow the caliper to sit fully perpendicular to the disk (Y)

Hope this helps (sorry for the pun :P )

  8. i. need 5 votes to became a member (Y)

Asking for validation is usually a means you wont get validated. You've mentioned it in nearly all of your posts.

Just concentrate on making constructive well though out posts and you will have access to the full forum before you know it!

Only trying to help you out here man.

  9. I was under the impression that short frames with short chainstays and high bb's made it more stable on the back wheel?

Dont hold me to that though. Sure I read somewhere that longer stays on a mod and shorter stays on a stock were meant to be more stable.

From personal experience, I could hold my 06 Cls Python longer on the back wheel than my 08 GU Tp (which has 10mm or so shorter stays)

I'm sure someone will clear all this up :P

Edit - plus, bb height doesn't really come into play with all the mentioned as they are +55. Generally though, higher bb are more stable on the back wheel (Y) I can sit my 08 GU 26" (+60) for days......

  10. Short Lynx, hs33, and a 2007 Python.

Well, they will feel fairly different as the Lynx will have a wheelbase around 1000-5mm where as the Python will be 1030mm (short) or 1045mm (long)

The Python has 375mm chainstays which are longer than the Lynx (at 362-5?) which if I recall rightly makes the bike feel a little more stable on the back wheel. It is designed as a TGS bike for doing mostly static moves, the Lynx however will feel more nimble but not as 'raggable' as the Python.

Also, the Python has A LOT of cnc parts and is more of a heavy duty frame so will weigh about 500-600 grams more!

  11. I'm perfectly happy with my 3gs, I've played on a few iphone 4's and I've not been so bowled over that I MUST HAVE ONE

That said, if you take a lot of photos on your phone, you'll benefit from the camera on the iphone 4, the HDR thing looks awesome

Hmmm, this is one of the features that draws me to it. The last few phones I have had (Nokia N series) all have had quite good cameras so it would be nice to have another. ARGH!!!! :S

Out of interest how good would you say the camera is on your 3GS?

  12. So, I'm due an upgrade on my 02 contract (as of last week) and have been looking into iPhones. I can upgrade to either a 3GS 8gb free, or the iPhone 4 16gb for around £100. I've had a play a couple of times on peoples 3G style phones and have to admit, I would like one. The question I'm really asking is the newest iPhone really worth shelling out for? Is there anyone on here that owns a '4' and can give a decent comparison between the two models? Are the features worth it (the higher res screen, better camera, flat backs pring to mind) Thanks!
