  1. the urban? it was a complete re-make.

    post-7977-126886811084_thumb.jpg

thats the 06, check out the flat profile on the top of the rim, the 07 swoops upwards, is allot thicker 110g heavier, an generally awesome. after 2 years mine is starting to die a little, but 2 years is awesome for £35

Yeah I was on about the 07 Urban rim. (although deng made no other sort of rim that year??) Ahhh right, I see, flatter profile etc. Agreed, for the price, theres no beating the 07's, I'll take the weight penalty if it means I'm not always conscious that I'll break/buckle them (Y).

  2. does the bike come with some sort of deal with monty for replacement parts?

Yeah, I was thinking this as well. Are parts available as a 'special order' via Tarty to the Monty factory, for the owner of the special edition?

  3. Heatsink Yellows all the way. The key is to have a sharp grind and you'll get loads of bite. Also, make sure they are set up perfectly square as the cnc backingsare very stiff, this will allow the pads to transfer more braking force. Been running a set for ages now on a sharp medium grind, still got 6+mm of material left. Well worth the money.

  4. Koxx browns are pretty good. I found you have to have quite a brutal sharp grind to really get the best out of them as they are a fairly hard pad. Recently ground a friends rim with a harsh sharp grind, put these pads on it and the bite/hold/noise was immense. Despite harsh grinds, don't be fooled these last bloody ages, pretty sure I read on here a while ago someone had been running a set for over a year and they still had loads of meat left on them....

    Hope that helps you...

  5. Weight isnt a factor to be honest, back ends light enough on my T Poo, strength i need as im not the smoothest of riders. May run smooth and get a good set of pads to be honest, had enough of grinds.

I've been running an Echo urban for ages now (well over a year) and its still going strong. A couple of dents but nothing major, still true and its had loads of grinds. Well worth the money if you ask me. If it does seem a bit too heavy, single walling it will help shed a bit of weight without sacrificing strength too much.

Stick with a grind, these rims hold them the best, out of every rim I've ground.

Edit: on the topic of tyres, you cant go wrong with the Monty Eagle Claw, super soft with a good wear rate and its very bouncy. Plus, its slightly larger than a rear Creepy :P

  6. Not a problem then could still be there though, dont know really. we'll go when we lose interest/something brakes haha.

Ok mate keep me posted :)

Haha, I hope your bike does brake :P I'll keep you posted though B)

  7. we planned to get there 10ish but we'll be there all day if the weathers fine :) so what time would you plan coming and we could arrange something?

Need more people too comee :)

Ah, dunno when I was thinking about lol but it wasn't morning  . I'll be at uni all day then work til 7pm. I think a few people might be out next weekend or something, I'll have to fire you a pm if I hear any more about it (Y) .

  8. If you google map the Bang & Olufson shop, its a right turn where the traffic lights are, then, at the side of the road as it sweeps round. (you'll also see the bus stops, its just before these) :)

Edit: hope that helps, I know its a bit vague :S:(

  9. I havn't seen much of Derby yet but, there is an area with stone benches just across from the multi-storey car park, (near the bang & olufson shop), the court and an area with large planters. These three are all within a mins ride of each other!
